Exactly as we do, no need to leave the lovely charms of Port Isaac once there, unless you choose to walk to the metropolis of Port Gaverne!

“Fantastic accommodation in fabulous village!”

We stayed at Dolphin House over the New Year period and had an absolutely brilliant time! The house is luxurious without being too formal and its location is fabulous, we cannot rate it highly enough! We were a mixed family group of 10 (mostly adults) yet the size of the house and the spacious rooms meant we never felt cramped. The village is just beautiful and the locals really welcoming and friendly. We were very reluctant to leave and we will certainly rush to go back!! Thanks David for everything!!

“A great house for family holiday in a great location”
Reviewed 10 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We stayed for a week at the end of August 13 with 6 adults and 4 young children, A great time was had by all. Situated in the town centre with access to the harbour, good restaurants a fresh fish market (barbecues !!) and nice walks, this 18th house is splendid. A nice garden for outdoor cooking, kids to play in and sunbathing, makes it fairly unique in Port Isaac.

The house itself is well appointed with all the usual holiday extras. But since the original was built in 1722, the tall should watch their heads! There are some low doorways.

We would thoroughly recommend a stay.

Thank you do much, its really fab when new friends / clients enjoy Port Isaac and particularly Dolphin House as much as we do. Great point about us tall folk and the fish cellars for great fresh fish pulled out of the sea often right by the cellars from local boats that still work the harbour as they have for centuries. Perhaps id replace Town Centre for Village Centre, but I appreciate your excellent comments. Thanks again, hope you return next year, I think our most regular family have been renting now for ten years or so, they replaced a family who have now moved to the Outer Hebrideas and were continuous renters for about 14 years. “Idyllic Location”
Reviewed 24 June 2013 for a stay in May 2013

We spent a wonderful week here with our kids. The location is fantastic with the harbour (and pub) a literal stone's throw away. The house itself is very spacious for such a tightly packed village and the parking space and secluded garden made it feel like a home from home. We had a few barbeques when we didn't fancy going out and the kids made great use of the internet and tv on demand . The rooms were all comfy, clean and stylish and the bathrooms and kitchen were all modern and functional. We also loved the little homely touches like board games and body boards in the shed.
The house acts as an excellent base to explore Devon and Cornwall by car or wander around Port Isaac and Port Gaverne. We ate out most nights and usually ended up watching the sun go down from the balcony of the Golden Lion, whose food and atmosphere are great. The coastal trek to Port Quinn is beautiful and invigorating, but not recommended for the very old or young, it took us about 3 hours at a dawdle. And we were glad of a warm fire and comfy sofa when we got back.
Overall, the house was everything we could have expected and more, we even saw Doc Martin being filmed from the lounge window.
One word of warning, pay close attention to the instructions for arriving by car - I didn't and needed a friendly local to show me the way, it was a doddle really.
Would love to go back already

Thanks Kerry, glad you all liked it and filled your time so well(!) - the view from the pub balcony is indeed fabulous.
thanks for the comments on the house, everyone thinks it is so comfy I pleased to say. I always advise guests to drop the sat nav once you enter Por Isaac or Port Gaverne as otherwise some SatNavs take you down roads that become a few feet wide.

“A Real Chill Out to recharge”
Reviewed 22 June 2013 for a stay in September 2012

Dolphin House is a truly lovely property set in an unspoilt cornish fishing village. When it says five bedrooms - they are all really generous sized rooms and 10 people can stay here without ever feeling they are cramped in any way. Three bathrooms (and four toilets) wow! The house is a real home-from-home and has everything you could possibly want for your holiday. We parked up and didn't use the car for the first part of our week and just explored the local area - walks, shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. Lots to do for all ages. Our most recent visit was with friends, but we have also had family holidays at Dolphin House too. Make sure you walk along the cliff path to Port Quin, one of many many lovely walks to do.

im liking holidaylettings and the feed back which we have had almost 100% positive over the years, but its been confined to the guest's book in the dining room so not for public viewing. We have many regular visitors, indeed one couple travelled from the North East for 9 years on the trot until they moved to The Highlands - often quoted by another regular family is their need for the "Annual Dolphin House fix"!
