Stayed for 3 nights in early September- big mistake because we could easily have stayed the full week. Cant really say enough good things about this. Everything is provided and its decor and furnishings are brilliant. Kelvin must be the most helpful sociable chap in Polperro and nothing seemed too much trouble. Highly recommend walking to Looe 5 miles or Talland Bay 2.5 miles on the coastal path, (the path is a bit rugged in places mind)you can catch the bus back from Looe even with a dog. Enough small local shops to get your essentials. The Three Pilchards and Blue Peter are excellent friendly pubs. Well worth taking advantage of Kelvins parking space and also worth booking the quad bike (easy to find on Facebook or ask Kelvin) to get your luggage down to the house. simply wonderful stay. PS to kelvin, sorry think we left a couple of beers and some chocolate in the fridge.
An absolutely fantastic week in lovely little apartment, brilliantly equipped and beautifully decorated. The owners are fantastic and looked after us really well :). There’s no sea view, but I count it as about 50 steps until your down to the harbour steps, we sat with a glass of wine on the benches. We’d highly recommend and will definitely be back, thank you!
Owners welcoming and helpful. Lower Laurels is located in an ideal position next to the harbour. The Museum cafe is situated a few steps away and provides excellent light breakfasts and cream teas etc. Also recommended is the garden of The Three Pilchards with seating overlooking the harbour. Walk to Talland Bay is well worth the effort - but be warned, the path down to the bay is very steep!
Altogether a very comfortable place to stay and would not hesitate to recommend it as a good place to stay when exploring the many attractions of Cornwall.
This was a great little place for the two of us to have a four day break. There’s everything you need at a good price. Bedroom, bathroom and lounge/ kitchen enough utensils if you’d like to cook ( just breakfast in our case as pubs near by did great food!) lots of extras like books, guides, maps, dvds, even a kite!
Small downside is that it has no sea view but 30 steps up the ally and your on the water front . There is a very small outdoor area ( two chairs and a table) where you can catch the sun with a glass of wine.
The owner also has a parking space near main car park that he rented us for less than the car parks rates. All parking is 1/2 mile away as just little lanes in the village but a little bus ( milk float!) can run you down to the harbour
The bakery, grocery store, and best pubs ( for us the three pilchards and blue peter) are all one minute away as well as a couple of take away places ( fish and chips / burger stall/ fish stall).
The walks along the coast are breathtaking to Looe one way and Pulroun/Fowey the other. Eden Project is 45 minutes away but car.
Would definitely stay again
Great little cottage in the heart of beautiful Polperro, close to our favourite places. Though the weather wasn’t kind to us this time Lower Laurels was warm and inviting. Well equipped with everything we needed, Winston the Westie and his humans had a wonderful Christmas break. Many thanks to Kelvin who would have been there if we had needed anything but was invisible because we didn’t! Recommended!
