This Hotel is really worth a visit if you like good old fashioned surroundings that are really cared for and clean. Plus it has the sea views and people with good old fashioned manners. Love the place you cannot not like it and the breakfast is done to perfection.

Room Tip: On the front overlooking the bay

This guest house with a beautiful view from the living room, the dining room and our bedroom is really a special place. The manager is really motivated, he loves his family house and treats his guests with personal attention. The breakfast is the best we have had in all Cornwall

We booked this hotel as we liked the look of the property, it had car parking  and it was near the harbour as my boyfriend was going shark fishing so from initial point of view it suited us just fine.

On arrival (after a traumatic journey down) we were greeted by Tom in the entrance hall who, after us signing in, took us to our gorgeous king sea view room set with binoculars for a bit of dolphin spotting! He offered to help us with our luggage even though we were ok and just gave us a quick tour of the sitting room and breakfast room and after us saying we wanted to do some cycling he also suggested a local cycle hire company who would deliver bikes directly to the hotel.

The bed was lovely and comfortable and we both slept really well. The bathroom was lovely and clean and decorated tastefully.

Breakfast was second to none, to my delight, arriving for breakfast and Tom, smartly dressed, took us to our table and we were offered a wide variety of breakfast options, all served and all hot food
freshly cooked to order. The fresh fruit salad was always a bit different each day but super fresh. Tea and coffee served in silver pots and wedgewood crockery all added  to the experience. We were offered as much tea coffee and toast as we wanted too which was refreshing.

The hotel as a whole was exceptional and it was
obvious from the outset that
Tom and his wife take great care and pride in maintaining the hotel. Every where was exceptionally clean and decorated in keeping with what is a beautiful property.

Tom and his wife were welcoming and truly hospitable, offering suggestions for places to visit or restaurants to eat and were genuinely happy to chat about the area and our plans for our stay - they are inordinately proud of their home, hotel, town and county which shone throughout our stay. We will definitely come again. Indeed the only bad thing about it was that our stay came to an end! Thank you for a delightful and memorable stay.  Chris and Liz

We chose Mount Royal from the reviews on Trip Advisor, it did not disappoint. Tom and his family were just so accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. We had a room with a view across the bay to St. Michael's Mount which was truly spectacular. The view is breathtaking and the visit to St. Michael's Mount was a highlight from our trip along with the visit to Minack Theatre. We Would totally recommend Mount Royal to anyone who requires a beautiful period building, great hosts and spectacular views. Absolutely loved our stay. Carol & Michael.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view!

Our second consecutive year to this hotel. We initially chose it for its position near the train & bus stations (convenient to explore the region) We returned because the hotel is so well run. The breakfast menu is excellent, well served and well presented.Tom is a proud Cornishman and very proud of his family hotel. He's very friendly and will offer advice on where to eat, visit and local transport. The views across the bay to St.Michael's Mount are stunning and can be enjoyed from the comfort of your room (not all rooms). Will definitely return.
