Brilliant place for coffee, lunch or early evening. Might get a bit "lively" in season or later on Thursday/Friday/Saturday nights but perfect during daytime. fantastic view from inside and there's plenty of outside seating.

We went in as a stag group and to be honest expected something a bit 'down and dirty'. But the inside is nicely done out, the staff were super friendly and helpful and the food was actually very good. Its a burger and wings type place, but they do this type of food really well. 16 of us ate, drank and sang along to some excellent live music here for about 5 hours on friday and we had a great time.

Popped in here one lunchtime, off the cuff no planning, but had seen the website before we went to Newquay.

Ordered drinks as grabbed a window seat and enjoyed the view in what was a nice day looking across the beach. We ordered some bar snacks and happened to have been in there while they had their 2 for 6.50 deal on. We got Squid, Chicken Caesar Salad, Garlic Fries and Spicy Chicken Quesadilla. It was all very nice and as mentioned surprisingly cheap. Served by two guys who were pretty good, one in particular very accommodating to my son who couldn't make up his mind what drink he wanted and the barman listed the drinks menu for him with a smile. We left happy with lunch and said we would return but did notice that some parts were a little grubby looking and having to clean your own table from the crumbs left over from the people before wasn't great.

We returned a few days later and ordered the exact same thing but although still nice the experience wasn't as good.

First drink went back as the glass had something floating in it then on closer inspection had something stuck to the inside of the glass slowly working itself free as the drink moved around, drink was changed with a cleaner glass too, 5 minutes later we realised that in the other soft drink glass (tumbler) there was something floating that could only be described as resembling a week old piece of grey wilted wet lettuce but at the bottom of glass something was stuck and again working away from the inside of the glass, it was pretty gross. Drink went back and no offer was made of a refund although I did get an apology as we left.

Food was good although the chips were very greasy and had none of the garlic flavour or what seemed like bits of Parmesan we had the first visit.

After reading some of the other comments I would agree there is a huge difference in the standard of service between workers here, the first visit we had an older guy who was very helpful working alongside a younger guy, possibly with glasses, who again was more than competent but the second visit we had a young lady with pink/purple hair who was reserved and unemotional and I can see why some people might get a bit upset.

One question I did have though was how odd it was having a Hostel at the same location as a bar/eatery? Bar one side Hostel the other! Strange.

Anyway due to the first day we went I give it a 4/5, food good although I doubt it's freshly made on site I'd guess and say the fried stuff isn't but the Chicken Caesar Salad with Bacon and Anchovies was and that was great value for what worked out to £3.25, at least £10 in London!

Service overall was fair but the difference between staff is huge.

We would return as it is good value with good drink options and great views.
