Visited here last Friday at 6pm with wife and 13 year old daughter. We were the only ones in the restaurant at the time so unsurprisingly the service was fantastic but it was the food that we really enjoyed. The prices are higher than that other high street sushi place but the quality more than made up for it and it was nice to try some different dishes e.g. soft shell crab tempura, beef rendang etc. Would definitely recommend even if if you've never tried sushi (it's not all raw fish)

Popped in for some sushi with the kids and found a delicious fresh menu with friendly staff. I can't say it was cheap but you definitely get what you pay for and the food was really tasty with lots of veggie and vegan options along with the fish and meat. Choose from the conveyor or order hot food from a helpful and kind waitress. Spot on.

This lovely little restaurant is a real find. We are fans of Sushi and were delighted to find this place right in the heart of Newquay.
We didn't eat in the restaurant as we were ready to return back to our holiday apartment, so we opted for a takeaway lunch. From the extensive menu, we chose the combo which consisted of 5x Maki, 5x California rolls, 2x Nigiri, 2x Summer rolls, plus wasabi, soy sauce and pickled ginger as well as the obligatory chopsticks.
We ordered 2 of these combos for 4 of us and at a cost of £30 it wasn't cheap but it was oh so worth it.
The food was beautiful to look at and obviously prepared with love, care and attention and it tasted divine. all the ingredients tasted fresh and the tuna in particular melted in the mouth. Unfortunately we forgot to take photos before we scoffed the lot !
This would be a fantastic place to eat for vegetarians and vegans too so all dietary needs should be catered for. Give SAFU a try next time you're in Newquay, you wont be disappointed. and if you don't want to eat in the takeaway is highly recommended !!

First impressions didn't bode well when we arrived and find the table we booked 4days previously (and had email confirmation for) wasn't booked on the reservation list!?

Japanese is our favourite food, we have eaten in many sushi restaurants in the south of England! The actual sushi was mediocre, and goes around the carousel. The 'hot dishes' as the waiter calls them are ordered separately at the table, we ordered tempura prawn £8 for 2 prawns! No dipping sauce?! Beef Rendang was like beef stroganoff (peppery mushroomy sauce!!) and stewing steak!? The crab summer rolls over powered by MINT? The veg tempura was very greasy and beetroot slices rock hard! The mixed mushrooms in soy & wakame were FREEZING COLD & had been pulled from the fridge clearly! They tasted like mushroom soup too.

Best bit was the Vegetarian Gyoza!!!!

Couples meal out away from kids done in 30 minutes and cost us £50!! GUTTED!!
