We had such a wonderful stay in This modern and well equipped holiday home. We had remarkable views over the beach and sea. This will be our first choice location on our next trip to Looe, Cornwall.
My husband and I have spent a wonderful week at bay view. Although there are quite a few steps to the property the views are worth it.The property is well equipped and is of a high standard. The terrace on the property is a sun trap which is wonderful if you just want to soak up the Cornish sun and look at the stunning view of milendreath bay. If you want to eat near base there is a fantastic restaurant by the beach the food is out standing and staff friendly and accommodating. There is also a bar which remains open until 11pm. We look forward to visiting again
Please see my previous review; it all still stands and this is the reason we returned for a full week this year and brought my Husband along with us! Bay View really is becoming a home from home for us as everything is just as we like it. We were treated to a new sofa and lounge layout which it has to be said, does work better. The bathroom has been completely renewed and the power shower is glorious. By boiling the kettle for hot water for the odd bit of washing up we didn't need to use the immersion heater at all. As I had the aforementioned Husband on board this year I felt the need to investigate the hilltop walk to Looe. It took us about 30 minutes and is quite punishing hillwise in places but this is all good news because you then can then enjoy guilt free indulgence in lovely Cornish goodies while you're there with the added bonus of not having to worry about how long you've got left in the car park! We visited Seaton beach which was busier than we were used to at Millendreath but still enjoyable. My son left his Nike trainers in the car park and they were still there two days later - This is Cornwall folks :-) Can't wait to get back next year.
This was our second stay at Tracey's apartment in Mellindreath, Black Rock Resort, near Looe and we would not hesitate on staying again. The two bed apartment is very well kitted out and perfect for a family of four (there is even a dishwasher!). The owner is also very communicative and really goes out of her way to ensure you enjoy your stay. The beach is literally two mins walk away and is great for young children (lots of rock pooling, etc...). There is a nice little café/bistro and also a bar by the beach. The walk along the costal path only take 30mins at a slowish pace (our 5 year managed it w/o complaining several times and back over the week).
There are quite a few steps to climb to get to the apartment, so perhaps not ideal for anyone with significant mobility issues. This is clearly highlighted when booking though. The neighbours we met were lovely too and our boys really got on well with their black lab. Rio.
This is a good base to visit other attractions in Cornwall and west Devon. If you have young children I would certainly recommend the Monkey Sanctuary (10mins away), Eden Project (35mins away), Camel Creek Adventure Park (50 mins away), Marine Aquarium in Plymouth (30mins away) and of course Looe and Polperro.
Cornwall,Millendreath, beautiful location, beach in walking distance, well equiped family holiday house big balcony overlooking the beach and pub.People very friendly. Will definitely visit again.
