“Perfect honeymoon in a perfect boathouse!”
Reviewed 29 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

After recently getting married, we decided to have our honeymoon in the lovely fishing town of Looe and we stayed at this amazing Boathouse. On arrival we had a bottle of Prosecco waiting from the owner to celebrate our marriage and some lovely Cornish biscuits. The Boathouse on arrival was spotlessly clean, the fridge also had fresh milk inside, which was a lovely surprise as we needed a cuppa after our long journey.

Looe is a lovely place to explore. There are loads of places to have something to eat and we found a lovely hidden gem called "Smugglers Cott" on Higher Market St.

If you're into your walking, we recommend a 5mile coastline walk from West Looe to Polperro. On the walk we came across the Talland Bay Beach Cafe which just made our day as there were beach huts where we could have your coffee and the best cakes you are likely to eat in Cornwall.

Overall, we had an amazing time, the weather was amazing and we would definitely stay at the boathouse again. Ian the owner even emailed us to ask if we arrived safely and this tells you that he really cares about the guests that stay in his property.

“Perfect little cottage in a perfect little English seaside town”

I recently stayed at the boathouse for a well needed getaway from London, and i couldn't have picked a better spot. The cottage itself is right in the heart of Looe, so it's super close to shops, good friendly pubs and restaurants which made my stay that much better.

Ian, my host was excellent to communicate with, gave lots of great tips and advice on places to visit and how to find your way around the cottage.

I would totally recommend the boathouse to anyone looking to experience a magical little fishing village in really comfortable settings.

Thanks for having me!

“Perfect”

We spent three nights at the Boathouse during February. It is perfect for a couple, wanting to spend some time in Cornwall. The Boathouse was spotless and they have provided everything that you would need. You can tell that the owners of the cottage have put a lot of thought into decorating and making sure that their guests are comfortable. We were provided with plenty of information regarding directions and local cuisine. It is very easy to contact the owner via email. Response was rapid and he made sure we had arrived safely. The kitchen was well equipped which meant we didn't have to go out for meals three times a day. They had even provided spices, herbs, oil, etc.
It is perfect for a romantic getaway.

Looe is a beautiful town. We recommend the coast path to Polperro (via Talland bay). There's lots of local cafes and shops, and there are two Co-ops in the town center.

We both had a lovely time and would recommend this to any couple. We would definitely come back,

“A beautiful getaway in the heart of Looe”
Reviewed 19 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

What a great place to stay. This is a beautifully refurbished cottage in the heart of Looe. It's a brilliant place to stay if you're looking to get away from it all but don't want to have to drive to go out for dinner or a pint in a nearby pub, as they're all literally a stone throws away!

The cottage has everything you'd need for a weekend escape - TV, WiFi, board games, and a well equipped kitchen. The bedroom is up a spiral staircase, with an en-suite bathroom. If you're looking to stay for much longer it might be a little claustrophobic.

The only downside is that the best place to park is a 10 minute walk away, but we found it was fine to pull up outside to unload when we arrive (although be aware the road is very steep so make sure you put the hand-brake on!).

Was really impressed with Ian the owner, he responded to our questions quickly, provided some great recommendations and left a personalised note for us when we arrived.

“Great boathouse set up for two people”

Stayed here for a long weekend and it was a beautiful place for two people. This was my first visit to Cornwall and Looe is beautiful and a good location to travel to other areas. The boathouse is kitted out with everything you need and the furnishings are lovely. You only need to step outside the door to be near all the shops, restaurants, bars and a few minutes walk to the beach. Ian the owner is very helpful with any queries you may have and gives lots of tips and information. We would definitely stay here again. This would make an ideal honeymoon cottage, very cosy.
