A strange mouldy smell that gets all your clothes
2 lovely looking beds giving you a choice of sleeping on a rock or in quicksand and to be honest we considered sleeping in the car as it would have been considerably more comfortable.
Wifi is great if you want to go and sit under the access point down the garden but is about as much use as a Handbrake on a canoe if you want to use it in the cottage.
If I owned the sofa I would have thrown it down the dump years ago as a garden bench would be more comfy
Luckily a feather duster is supplied to clean up the spider webs which seem to be in every nook and cranny. Cottage needs a damn good clean!
The only person who could walk to town in 15 mins would be Mo Farrah on a good day! We walked the recommended trail which took 45 mins at a brisk pace,
My family of four (brother, mum, nan and I) frequented this property in August 2015. The cottage is next door to a large manor house although we never saw anyone there during our week stay. Whilst the cottage itself is quite hidden amongst shrubs it boasts a huge, extended garden with a plentitude of flowers and plants.
The cottage is located down a hidden little lane and is a drive away from the town of Looe (or a 45min walk). On arrival the ladies in the office were extremely helpful and friendly and we were lucky enough to arrive a little earlier as the cottage was ready for our arrival.
The cottage itself was sufficient for the 4 of us and acted as an ideal base for us to go out and explore Cornwall. We were happy enough in the space although be advised that the living space is quite small and was a bit of a squeeze on the odd occassion when the 4 of us rested in the lounge area.
The cottage has been tastefully decorated although it does need a touch of paint / tlc and a bit of 'fixing' here and there to bring it back to it's best! A few extra touches such as painting issues, providing more towels for a week stay, more cutlery, cups and cooking utensils), fixing toilet handle and shower door, thorough dusting i.e. cobwebs would make it a 4-5 star. However the main fault we found was the damp issue througout especially in the back bedroom. Due to the beautiful gardens and the surrounding manor house and sprawling shrubs the cottage gets very little sunlight and absorbs a lot of moisture which is evident in the cottage (you can see the mould issue on the shower door which needs painting). When we returned from a day out we aired the cottage although our pillows in the back room often felt damp.
Overall it was a good experience and we are pleased with our stay but due to the above we felt we probably wouldn't stay again.
