“A slice of Cornish heaven.”
Reviewed 4 July 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We enjoyed a terrific week at this delightful cottage with décor straight out of a Country Style magazine. So clean, well equipped and set in a picturesque village a stones throw from a great pub full of friendly locals. So peaceful and relaxing after you've spent the day exploring southern Cornwall. Highly recommended.

Thank you for the thoughtful review and looking after the cottage so well. It's always great to hear guests have enjoyed our village, its location and amenities as well as the cottage itself. Your positive feedback or especially appreciated given you are also in the hospitality business. Thank you once again and we'd love to welcome you back to Ancarva in the future.

“A beautiful well equipped cottage.”
Reviewed 6 June 2017 for a stay in May 2017

A beautifully equipped cottage in a great location near to Falmouth but within easy travelling distance to other places of interest. Immaculately clean and have never stayed in such well equipped accommodation. Communication with the owners was excellent from initial booking and throughout our stay. I'm sure we'll be back!

“Stunning cosy cottage near the Cornish coast”
Reviewed 22 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Ancarva is the most beautiful little cottage, with everything you could possibly want for an escape to the Cornish scenery. Most comfy bed in the world, spotlessly clean throughout, beautiful touches including a ready laid fire and provisions for a cream tea made us instantly at home. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could think of, and the stunning secret garden also comes with a BBQ should the weather treat you well enough. We made friends with the locals and the landlord in the amazing local pub, the Royal Oak, which does absolutely delicious food and a good selection of real ales amongst other things. Perfect base for exploring Cornish highlights in the car including st Ives, Falmouth, Truro, Penzance etc. Couldn't fault our wonderful stay, thank you Jacqui and Simon for your thoughtful communications and the generous lift from the station, and an amazing holiday to remember.

Marvelous place to stay. Hosts were welcoming and friendly. Cottage warm and snug. Clean and very well appointed. Comfy beds. A lot of thought has gone into making sure you have everything you need in a cottage. The secret garden was beautiful. 10/10.

We loved staying in this pretty little cottage to celebrate my birthday. We thought the cream tea upon arrival was a very special touch (very tasty too).

The beds are very comfortable and bedding is great quality, I had a great nights sleep. We loved getting out the bath to wrap ourselves in the soft fluffy towels. I was surprised to see that the fire had already been build ready for us to light which was very considerate, we loved curling up in front of it to watch City of Angels (great dvd collection by the way!). The selection of board games was a lovely touch too, 'who wants to be a millionaire' went down very well whilst we indulged in cheese and wine!

We did tear ourselves away from the cottage on a few occasions to visit St Ives, Lands End and Falmouth. The location of the cottage is great, and everything was quite easy to get to, we drove since it was all very close, but the trains run regularly and are a great alternative.

The kitchen is compact and very well organised, we enjoyed a home made chicken roast with all the trimmings on the Sunday and found everything needed.

Having previously worked in a 5* Hotel as a guest relation executive, I have to admit I can be very particular about cleanliness and there was not one single part of the cottage which was not perfectly clean and tidy. There was not one thing missing, the hosts have clearly thought about every tiny detail. A wine cooler, sewing kit, torch, first aid and spare batteries - I could go on! I can't think of anything that was missing!

Upon recommendation of the host, we ate in the Norway Inn which was very tasty (I've been craving their desert menu ever since) and we enjoyed the short stroll to the pub and back, particularly our midnight adventure back after with our torch!

We were sad to leave but would love to return one day and continue to explore the delights that Ancarva and Cornwall offer.
