I have just spent 2 nights at the Mill Hotel on a "girlie 50th weekend". The hotel is in a great location just a few minutes stroll into the city centre, which is great for shopping, bars and restaurants.
My friend and I were allocated a twin room on the 2nd floor in the older part of the hotel. Although the room was comfortable and clean, the layout and design of the room for 2 women especially, trying to get ready was difficult. There was a dressing table, but no mirror above it or plugs? There was a small mirror on the opposite wall where you had to prop yourself half on the bed to see into it to dry your hair. There was only one other plug socket in the room by the side of the bed but again no mirror so pretty difficult all round.
Breakfast was organised chaos. We turned up around 8.45am to be put on a waiting list and told to wait in the reception area until we were called. This took around 15 minutes. It was hot in the dining room and with the amount of people in there made it quite uncomfortable. There was a selection of tinned fruits (fresh melon, and whole pieces of fresh fruit), cereal and a cooked breakfast station which I didnt eat from so I cant comment on that - toast and croissants. We spent one of the nights at the Christmas Party night which I though was good. The service from the staff was very good and the food was fresh, hot and plentiful. The carpet throughout the hotel was very tired. I didnt use the leisure facilities, but went to have a look round and all looked clean and nice. The staff we encountered throughout our stay were all very pleasant and helpful. I wouldn't personally choose to stay in this hotel again.
