I took the tour at 10.30 am just before Easter 2018. The guide was Alan, who was obviously passionate about the city and spoke with a good clear voice. There were six of us on the tour. He used a hand drawn map at every opportunity which was not really necessary.
He told us early on that the tour was 90 minutes but he could make it last longer, which would be fine if it were not for the sometimes repeated information (one fact was told to us on five separate occasions).
Alan also got dates wrong on a few occasions, and was corrected by one of the group. Some of his interpretations of English history were different from what I learned.
He tried to take us into two buildings (one church /one shop) which had events on, and so we were denied the promised experience. Alan later took us into a pub and another shop, but it felt a little awkward waiting while he asked permission. It may have been better to explain the buildings from the outside and suggest that we return individually if we wanted to see the interior.
I have taken guided walks in various places, and this one was more expensive and of lower quality than most.
