Owner description: The romantic gothic Castle - a product of the early 19th century - stands on a high rise above a lake. The Castle is surrounded by sweeping lawns and a variety of mature trees, including Cedars of Lebanon, Oak, and Chestnut. The gardens surrounding the Castle provide a lovely mix of colour and height, with intriguing walks around the lake. There is a Temple Water Garden, Rose Garden, a variety of mixed borders. Plantings are planned to provide colour at all times of the year.

went ther on a sunny bank holiday Monday and although I don't live far away I had never been. £7 to get in. The gardens are huge with lots of features. There is a quaint reasonable priced tea room serving coffee cake meals and wine and beer. High standard of quality and service. They had a jazz quartet at the tea room.
All in all very pleasant afternoon.

My wife and I and two friends visited Cholmondeley Castle gardens on the afternoon of Sunday 27th August. We were lucky with the weather and really enjoyed our afternoon out! The Castle was a sight to behold, as we walked amongst the trees, gardens and lakes. Afterwards we had tea nd scones in the tea house which was nice. All in all to be recommended.

Had a wonderful day at the castle for a charity day and "teddy bares picnic"
Lots to do for children, Punch and Judy show (free) inflatables, game stalls, hook a duck, tombolla, face painting, all at a small cost but all for charity.
My children especially loved the act impersonating "Moana" and the old fire engine which was on display.
Lots of thought gone into this charity event and will be back for another!

We stopped here for a break on a long journey, and made straight for the tea house. The prices were very reasonable, and the scones delicious. After best part of an hour, sat in the Sunday morning sunshine we took a walk around the gardens. They are lovely, well laid out and maintained. Less than two hours later we were on our way, sad that the house was not accessible as it looked lovely, but happy that we had seen the gardens.
