Charm oozes out of this sweet little tearoom. Open the door, and a whirl of smells and colours flood your senses. A daily menu is written up on a blackboard, the food is made from local and fresh ingredients and any adaptations and requests can be made. The staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive, even offering take away boxes of their delicious cakes. The food was delicious, fresh, well portioned and reasonably priced. Forget Pret or Costa, we need more of these treasures around the country!

We came across this place whilst strolling around Linton.
It is a lovely little tea shop on the main street where, when you enter are overpowered by the superb selection of cakes on offer.
How do you make up your mind what you desire?
The answer is that you desire them all but of course this is not possible so we chose one each and had one between us for luck.
One of them was a chocolate brownie which was superb but so sickly that we had to take it back to the B & B to finish consuming later.
I had a Latte and the wife had a pot of tea and I have to admit that the coffee was most welcoming and the tea was more than satisfactory.
The shop is run by young ladies and they did a great job of looking after us considering it was very busy at the time.
All in all a great experience and I take my hat off to the girls for doing a great job.
Well done it was very enjoyable.

Stopped in this unpretentious cafe for a coffee and cake. It was heaving. Well I'm not surprised. Seriously excellent cake.

Who doesn't love a small independent cafe, somewhere to escape and enjoy the culinary delights of unsung brilliant chefs?!
I've been living in Linton, a small village in between Cambridge and Haverhill, for just under a month now but despite a couple of brief visits, I have now finally had the pleasure of eating at Linton Kitchen. Tucked neatly in to the village high street, this cafe has a modest face but as you move closer to take a look, you cannot resist its charming temptations to move out of the cold and take a seat inside.
The menu is small but irresistible in its simplicity and ever-changing;everything is cooked fresh allowing new temptations to be on offer each day, including gorgeous sweet delights that can't be left alone. Despite being small in size, the kitchen's interior allows for relaxing 'me' time or a more sociable gathering of friends and family, if you wish. The coffee is good and their 'cup' size allows you to be more indulgent with their generous portions of cake!
I personally invested in a roasted vegetable and cheddar quiche, accompanied by salad and crisps. The quiche induced mouth-watering levels of tastiness and the accompanying salad was sweetly dressed; the only downfall was that it was so delicious that I ate it far too quickly!
I followed this with a 'cup' of latte and took a risk, trying a Marmalade Bread Pudding, not the normal type I would usually choose. The risk paid off, it was delightful and this time, I savoured the yummy-ness whilst reading a National Geographic article about happiness, which was rather appropriate in such a lovely, happy little place.
If ever you are driving through, if you live in Linton or if you fancy a trip out of the city, Linton Kitchen is well worth a visit. If for a coffee with friends, lunch with a partner or a slice of wonderful cake by yourself, this cute cafe delivers on all fronts.
