Owner description: Come to the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology at the University of Cambridge to see world-class collections of art and artefacts from all over the world. Objects ranging from stone tools and pots to sculptures and paintings represent cultures and histories over millennia. Great recent and contemporary works reflect the diversity of peoples worldwide, and the resilience of indigenous cultures confronted by globalisation

Literally came in 30 minutes before closing to see one of the India exhibitions and staff were kind enough to let us in. It was free which was great. A small exhibit but really lovely showcasing.

They had a little shop as well which had some tailored gifts to buy from the exhibits. Wish we had more time!

we visited the museum of anthropology and found it fascinating. unlike many of the larger museums it wasn't over-crowded and we had the opportunity for a really good look around.

Sister museum to Sedgwicks Museum of Geology but this 'wing' is dedicated to Archaeology (mostly local to Cambridge) and to Anthropology with native artifacts from around the world - as diverse and clothing and HUGE totem poles ... well worth a visit and suprisingly interesting

This is a free museum featuring a huge array of fascinating items produced by various tribes, communities etc. around the developing world. It is a gorgeous building and the collection is really accessible. Children will marvel at the huge totem pole and adults will have a time to reflect on the huge and fascinating diversity of the physical expression of culture.

oh yes, and it is free!
