Lovely location overlooking the park, small but light and airy. Super friendly service, had my little baby with me and they made a real fuss. Delicious lounge eggs with chorizo, peppers and guacamole. Good coffee. Only note - door very difficult to access with pram.

We have been frequenting this cafe / restaurant for some years now, and have generally had excellent food and drink. We always find the staff helpful and pleasant. Generally we visit as a couple, but it's a good place to go on your own, as couples, family or with friends in a party. The food is varied, but mostly could be described as 'substantial snack food' with burgers, salads, soups and sandwiches making up the majority of the menu. The food appears to be cooked to order in their own kitchen rather than delivered chilled and heated-up. Drinks range from free water, hot and cold soft drinks, and very reasonable beer and wine, by the glass or bottle. Food and drink prices are also very reasonable, and it is possible for two people to dine quite well and enjoy a coffee each, all for £20 to £25 per couple. The style is very bohemian, a mish-mash of furnishings, fixtures and decorations. The patrons vary from a diverse range of people, from most walks of life, enjoying a quiet coffee on their own, to fun parties of 8 with children and even dogs. You can not book a table, and food is ordered at the bar, but it is served at your table. Turnover of patrons is usually quick and results in a table become free within a few minutes. On what must be now well over 50 visits I have never walked through the door and out again without sitting at a table within a maximum of a 5 minute wait.
My particular food preference is nearly always the tapas. When I first visited back in 2012 the tapas menu was substantial. About 3 years ago the management cut the tapas menu down to about a third of what is used to be. That was particularly sad and now perhaps we do not dine at the Porto as much, because I tire of the same choices from the tapas menu. Having said that though, I have continued to enjoy visiting a couple of times a month, and choosing from 3 or 4 tapas dishes. I particularly recommend the Butter Chicken with Chipotle Mayo, the Teriyaki Chicken Skewers, the Pork and Beef Meatballs and the Pulled Chicken and Chorizo with Potato. Three tapas dishes served with fresh, warm ciabatta for £9.95 is very filling). My partner, well she enjoys salads and the chicken and avocado is a particular favourite (tip: ask for the chipotle mayo as an accompaniment).
Occasionally I have had cause to ask for the meatballs to be served hotter, and on one occasion the portion control on the Butter Chicken was way off the usual, at only half quantity! On these rare occasions the staff have put matters right without question. The Porto ia a friendly, small and busy place, with great atmosphere and ideal for casual dining.

Porto Lounge is my favourite of all the Lounges I’ve visited. Small, intimate, with very friendly staff and the best toasted tea cakes in Bristol !

Corner cafe out on Fishponds Road
Double espresso and a fizzy water came to £4.15. Order at the bar, they bring it to your table

Buzzy on a sunny Saturday afternoon in February, almost every table taken.

Went for brunch with a friend, coffee was great and had skimmed milk if requested. I got a brunch breakfast burger which was great really tasty food. Great atmosphere and quite busy as food is good. Brilliant service the person at the till and doing the ordering was so friendly. Over all quite a clean place too despite being busy. Reasonable prices too. Great visit will definitely go again.
