Disappointed at car park changes

1.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 31 Oct 2024
This hotel has been our Go-to hotel for quite a few years but we will not be using it any more.
We have always loved the staff and we have felt very comfortable there.
We use it because we visit family in Bristol and the big attraction has been the car park next door where we can pay for a full day and come and go when we want.
We are not youngsters and have disabilities so walking and public transport are not options for us.
We are devastated to be now told that you cannot leave the car park without incurring extra costs
We are now on the look out for a central hotel that has a more friendly approach to disabled guests who need to stay at the hotel and use their car to visit family

The event itself was fine although it would have been nice to have natural light in the room. However, my guests were complaining about the housekeeping. Beds were not made up each day and a note in the room stated this was to "help the environment". Making a bed has no environmental impact. It's all about money. You just lie about it. Internet was down for the whole duration meaning people couldn't work effectively. You gave me 5 chocolates to say sorry. Very poor.

Room tip: Stay somewhere else where they make the beds up each day.

    Dear Guest,

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your thoughts on the event space and apologize for the issues you encountered.

Regarding housekeeping, we aim to balance environmental sustainability with guest comfort.

While we strive to reduce laundry to lessen our environmental impact, we understand that daily bed-making is important for many guests.

We will certainly review this policy to ensure it meets our guests’ needs better.

We also regret the inconvenience caused by the internet issues during your stay. Reliable connectivity is essential, and we are working to address these concerns.

We appreciate your understanding and hope to improve your experience in the future.

Stayed here for my 60th with my husband . The staff were wonderful , kind and helpful. Could not fault it at all. Stayed in the executive room for my birthday treat and had use of the executive lounge. We didn’t realise until our last evening , that nibbles of food & alcohol was available in the lounge from 5:30. The bed was big and comfy, if you want your bedroom cleaned daily then you need to request it .
The chef realising it was my 60th personally brought me a small cake /desert with happy birthday written on the plate , so very kind of him. If you are lucky enough to me him , he is lovely and also “ Li “ who was such a friendly man. Enjoyed so much we are booking fur Dec xxxx

Room tip: Used to have a pool but no longer available. Trip advisor still showing pics of the pool

We opted for a stay her after being gifted some vouchers, we decided the Mariott, being a big name, we couldn't go far wrong.

The room was spacious and immaculately clean, the bed was comfortable and the facilities were great.

Parking in the NCP next door was handy, and better still, partially subsidised saving us about £15 on the stay.

From the outside, the hotel appears dated, but internally it looked to have not long been refurbished.

My only nark was the air conditioner was quite loud and managed to go off with a roar at 3am in the morning, the first night.
