“LIke being a guest in someone's very comfortable home”

The views of the landscape and the mountains are fabulous. The villa is inviting and comfortable. Ms Roumy, the manager, is beyond gracious.. The location is perfect for a setting of peace and quiet; a short car ride to a local village for food shopping, etc.; family restaurants in several adjacent villages. I would return in a heartbeat.

“Amari Villas”
Reviewed 28 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

This was absolutely one of the best vacations ever. The villas are so beautiful, combining the authenticity of an old Cretan home with all the most modern conveniences, up to date bathrooms, kitchens, air conditioning and the like. The villas are decorated with old world charm. The owner, Manolis, is a gem. He is there to help you in anyway he can, dedicated to making your stay as comfortable as he can. The manger/housekeeper, Mrs. Roumy completed the picture. Having her just a few steps away was such a joy. She is a fabulous cook and many nights we took advantage of her delicious Cretan food.

“Excellent base for day trips with car”

We rented both villas together with a group of 10 adults and 9 children from ages 0 up, and enjoyed our stay immensely.

The mountain village Amari is very small and there's nothing to do there (except hike the mountains which some of us did on a few mornings). So every day we got in our cars and drove about an hour to one of several nice beaches on the coast. After a long day at the beach it was great to come back to the villa, since it was possible to order excellent homemade Greek dinners for very good value from the housekeeper, so we didn't have to trouble our heads with dinner plans. The views from the terraces of the villa are beautiful and it was so nice to have dinner there every night together.

The villa is very well equipped so we didn't miss anything. The pool at the other villa was a nice place to sunbathe.

Remember, there's absolutely nothing to do in this village, but if you're ready to make day trips by car, I couldn't dream of a better place to do it from.

“A beautiful villa with breathtaking view”
Reviewed 3 December 2012 for a stay in November 2012

We had a wonderful stay in Villa Samitos.
The contacts with the owner prior to the visit were very helpful, with useful info sent in advance and very good directions to reach the villa. The area is just beautiful! It is a quiet village, but perfect for people who like fresh air and walking, and close enough to interesting attractions (Chania, Rethymnon, Preveli beach).
The villa itself is beautiful and very welcoming, well equipped and comfortable. It is even better than it looks on the pictures! The welcoming basket and the possibility to have a traditional meals prepared by the housekeeper are very nice attentions that add to the charm. The house is perfect for families with young kids.
