We found this cottage, which is also known as Arbutus Grove Cottage, on petfriendly.ca. We called the hosts and made a reservation for two adults and one large but well-trained dog. On our confirmation e-mail our hosts gave us incredible information on what to do and where to eat on Galiano Island. We followed their good advise and enjoyed our stay very much.
The cottage is located on a quiet road across from the ocean with easy access a few meters down the road. It was very nicely decorated and contained everything we could possibly need. There was an outdoor table and chairs plus two Muskoka chairs to enjoy the good weather.
The bonus came on our last night when we were offered fresh homemade pie. This was totally unexpected, totally appreciated and absolutely delicious. Thanks for everything Rocky and Ralph!

Thank you for your review, Anne. It is always great to read that our guests enjoyed their stay at Sticks and Stones - Arbutus Grove Cottage. The weather was certainly 'the best' during your stay. We hope that you will tell your friends and family about your time spent on Galiano.......and that you will consider a return visit in the future.....Ralph and Rocky

Absolutely beautiful and cozy! The cottage looks like it's been remodeled recently. convenient to stores and restaurants. My daughter and her 2 little ones stayed there, and it was great! Rocky and Ralph made sure that we had everything we needed. There was even a family of deer that visited right outside the cottage!

.....We are pleased that you enjoyed yourselves while visiting Galiano.....the deer were an added bonus. There are no predators on Galiano, so the deer have multiplied.....nice to see but not great when they get into the garden. ;-)

We just returned from a five-night stay at Arrow's Run Suite (lower level) - myself, my adult son, and two adult friends. The house was fully stocked and had fabulous bed/bedding. My son slept comfortably on the pullout couch. Extremely clean, modern, stylish and comfortable, with a lovely patio area. The kitchen was impressive with everything we needed including coffee maker/grinder, blender, etc etc. Christa was our host and was extremely personable and a wealth of information. Loved the double-headed shower and we never ran out of hot water. The surroundings were incredible with shore access right across the street. We got in many kayaks and got great launch information from Christa and her father-in-law Ralph. Paddlers make sure you do the Montague Campground launch point, to the right...incredible. We rented a power boat from Ralph at the Montague Harbour for a competitive price and went to the Saltspring Island market on Saturday, which was phenomenal and everything we heard about it and more.Ralph gave a lengthy lesson on the boat and spent the time on all island attractions and information - appreciated! Will definitely return. Price was excellent, WIFI was free and fast (surprised by this!). Only downside was the families with young kids running through unit above us. No big deal though, they went to bed early and it was a minor distraction. Next time would find a week where there were no little kids upstairs (or stay upstairs in that gorgeous suite). Had a great dinner at the Galiano Inn and a walk through the gardens overlooking the ocean - the mural in the lobby was worth a visit - 228 artists contributed, stunning. Also check out the artists on the island - glassworks and pottery, amazing work. Well marked hikes stunning...don't miss the bluff and visit the cemetary, which has a view of a rock island teeming with sea lions in Active Pass - lovely serene spot to enjoy a close-up view.

The cabin was comfy and very well equipped, even a wood stove in the event of a power outage. The kitchen had all sorts of equipment, Rocky brought over the neatest oven to do a roast, modern bathroom, comfy bed and private location.
It was a rough weather week for my stay but I was warm and dry. Two waterfront accesses nearby, I walked there easily with my dogs.
Ralph and Rocky are very considerate hosts, they also supplied a great map that they've developed with all sorts of information and ways to explore Galiano. The Island is easy to get around and I explored all sorts of beach accesses, including one with a ground wasp nest along the path - that's what dogs do, they discover these inconveniences! Montague Harbour Park is a real beauty too!

Room Tip: The cabin is older yet up to date and in the back of the property. The rooms in the upper part of the new house have water views.

....with the exception of the 'ground wasp nest'....it appears that your visit was a memorable one. So glad that the map that we produced help you find the island highlights.

We spent a fabulous weekend at Galiano Island and stayed at the Sticks and Stones Country Cottage. Our hosts, Ralph and Rocky Moyle were extremely accommodating and helpful. The self-contained unit itself is warm and inviting and has absolutely everything that you need. During the cooler weather the wood stove adds extra ambiance to the evenings and we thoroughly enjoyed the homemade scones and fresh eggs in the morning! The location is wonderful - close to beach access while also close to the market/corner store. There is much to explore on Galiano island - Montague Harbour, Shell Beach, Morning Beach and Pebble Beach - all a little different. Dionisio Provincial Park is truly a natural paradise and there are many other trails and hikes to explore. We ate out at the Flying Black Dog and Babes in the Woods both great places to eat and chance to meet some of the locals. It was an amazing experience largely due to the great place that we stayed in and the kindness of our hosts
