“Beautiful cottage at the gateway to the Peak District”

Stunning cottage with all you need to stay for a week or more, also happens to be perfectly situated to visit various attractions; A walk from Milldale to Dovedale (or vice versa), a trip to Matlock Bath, Chatsworth House or the historic town of Bakewell.
The garden is great to have a sit down during the warmer months and the Red Lion pub down the road does curry nights on Fridays.
A wonderful destination and highly recommended.

“Lovely little cottage - would stay again”
Reviewed 20 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We spent 3 nights at The Creamery last weekend and it was great.

Including a large living room, 1 bedroom, bathroom and kitchen it has everything a couple will need. The kitchen is well stocked, im sure it would have everything you need, washing up liquid, sponges, etc are all available which isn't always the case with rentals.

Its great to arrive and have milk in the fridge, freshly homemade bread and cakes ready for you - a lovely touch. Its a short drive to Ashbourne & Matlock, and walking distance down the road is the Red Lion - we had an excellent meal there

Only thing to be aware of is that I could not get any mobile signal in the cottage. I think because of the old thick stone walls, if you go right up to the window I could get a tiny bit, or if I went and stood by the gate. But not ideal if you need to be able to contact people.
There is also no WIFI which is a shame, as we wanted to research some places whilst away - and with no wifi and no phone signal it was a challenge. If it had wifi it would be rated as 'excellent'

“A very nice little cottage”
Reviewed 9 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

The cottage itself was very homely and clean, with a well stocked kitchen (enough equipment to cook a 3-course meal with a bit of washing up in between courses anyway).

Owners were very friendly and offered good advice and guidance about the local area.

Location is very good - able to drive to Ashbourne, Buxton, Bakewell within 40 mins. Car is essential.

“Great location for an activity or relaxing holiday”

Have just greatly enjoyed a week's holiday in this lovely cottage. We arrived on a wet afternoon to a warm welcome from Liam, the owner, a warm cottage, and starter provisions of milk, coffee, tea, bread and cookies. The cottage itself is extremely well equipped and there was plenty of room for the two of us to feel comfortable. The good weather for the rest of the week meant we were able to enjoy great walking and cycling without having to travel too far. There is so much to do within this area of the Peak District that we anticipate returning in the not too distant future.

“Briiliant cottage - definitely would return!”
Reviewed 25 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We stayed at the Creamery as a couple for two nights in April 2014. Despite booking the cottage online just one day before our stay, the cottage had been prepared marvelously by the owner Liam for us in time for our arrival. The Creamery is a small building just off the owner's main home. There are two cottages on the premises, one for 2 people, another for 4 people and both cottage visitors have use of the garden grounds. The Creamery is the smaller cottage, it has a small (but well equipped) kitchen with an oven , table and chairs and all the crockery one could need. It has a bathroom , with bath and shower. And a large living room, with sofas, television (with dvd player and freeview) and a dining table for 4 people. There is a small garden table outside as well. The owner, Liam, made us feel welcome upon arrival and recommended the local pubs and various worthwhile walks in the local area, Liam was both friendly and informative. The cottage was spotless, the bed was comfortable and the homemade biscuits left out for us were delicious. The cottage is situated right by public footpaths for walks in the Peak District and was about 90 minute walk (slow pace!) to Carsington Water. The cottage is within driving distance to Dovedale which was an excellent, popular walk. The Creamery is a 2 minute walk from the local pub 'The Red Lion', the food there is delicious and the bar staff were very friendly. We would definitely stay at the Creamery again and could not fault it in any way.
