As most of the other reviews show ,you really must book here if you require acomodation in the area.We had a warm welcome on arrival , the owner is very friendly and chatted with all the guests we met, nothing seemed too much trouble .The location is lovely and tranquil with views of the countryside. The house itself is quaint too say the least ,we enjoyed spotting little quirks ,and you got used to the sloping floors and crooked staircase. Our room The Marlborough was better than what we were expecting ,and we had 2 comfortable sleeps .Breakfast was tasty and made to order too.
We would highly recommend staying ,and would book again .

I would whole heartedly recommend this B&B

This is such a stunning historical building and we feel really lucky to have stayed here. The bedroom we stayed in was so comfortable and clean, really tastefully decorated and we felt at home instantly.

The grounds are kept immaculately and the dining room was very elegant. The hosts were so approachable and the dogs they had were adorable!!! The breakfast was really well cooked and presented beautifully.

It's a lovely base to explore from....we needed a much needed break for the weekend and that is exactly what we got. Thank You to the wonderful hosts xx

The family could not have done more to help us. We were walking the Ridgeway and they kindly gave us a lift from a nearby village when we phoned to ask for a taxi firm number. This has been the family's home since the 1930s but its history goes back centuries. We stayed at the top of the house. Some care is needed in the bathroom - I put the bath mat next to the shower cubicle as the floor is, unsurprisingly given the age of the building, not flat and one could slip. Also mind the hot water in there, it can be very hot.

This was the best, most interesting place we stayed on our recent travels on the Ridgeway. The family are so kind, friendly and generous. We were even given a lift back to the Ridgeway. The breakfast was delicious, the best we had on our trip. The sausage, which so often lets down a Full English, was excellent, sourced from a local butcher. Eggs were perfectly cooked and fresh. Very highly recommended!

Near to Wantage, this working farm is a great alternative to the usual local B and B's.
A warm welcome, early check in and the flexibility to allow my family to change in my room for a wedding we were all attending (despite not actually staying there) was greatly appreciated. A very comfy bed, quirky layout overlooking the stables and a history that dated back to 1604 only added to its charm. A delicious, proper cooked breakfast, sat with other guests ended my stay which, I might add was at a very reasonable price.

Room Tip: There are some features which may not be suitable for those unsteady on their feet, for example uneven floors, quirky staircases etc.

What a cracking place. A working farm with cats, dogs, horses etc in a lovely quiet position overlooking fields and garden. Getting there early we had the choice of suites and the owners allowed us to enter the rooms early so that we could get changed for a wedding. Really helpful, friendly and lovely people - large comfortable rooms with lovely well equipped bathrooms and heated floors.

Breakfast around a large table with other guests, choice of serials and yoghurts with a choice of fruits and bread for toast. Full English, cooked to order and proper sausage not the awful cheap things you get in chain hotels.

A home from home place, we would have loved to stay longer and will certainly stay again in the future. Thanks again for your total flexibility letting us into the rooms very early.
