We thoroughly enjoyed these four days in early August. We saw Dall’s porpoises, dolphins, bears, sea lions, seals, jumping pink salmon, and humpbacks. Of course you hope to see orcas but on this week they came to the bight but no further in the daylight. We did wake up when we heard them in the early morning (1:30 am) each night as they passed by our camp. They stayed in the area for quite a while. It was wonderful to sit on a beach in the middle of the night listening to these orcas with their distinctive blow just meters from where we were sitting.
The staff can't control weather or wildlife but they go out of their way to give you the best experience possible. They are flexible with kayak routes making plans depending on the wind and calmness of the sea. They scout the horizon and the shore to ensure you see all of the wildlife. The same staff cook fabulous meals (you won't go hungry!). They are extremely hard working and focused on giving you an exceptional experience. This area is incredibly beautiful and the camp is very comfortable. I can’t wait to go back!

I had always wanted to do a kayak trip. I searched long and hard to find a trip that would provide an experience; combining camping scenery and a challenge. Wildcoast provided all of these. Our guides (Nolan and Josh) took a group of newbie kayakers and led us on a 6 day trip of a lifetime. They were nformative on the area and wildlife, funny and very social (take the guide shirts off and you wouldn't know they were guides, they fit in that well). The food was prepared perfectly and was of restaurant quality, certainly not what you'd expect camping.

Very diverse camping locations, always with a great view. One note with expedition camping though, it's rustic. While the equipment is top notch, the camping sites are similar to backpacking style campsites. If you're accustomed to "glamping", this would not be for you (maybe try the Orca camp trip).

Plenty of wildlife to view and scenery to look at. Seals, whales & eagles are some of the wildlife seen. Just remember, they don't all appear at once and you do have to watch for them (be attentive).

The experience was amazing. Memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. I will definitely be booking another trip and highly recommend it. Don't miss out on this experience. Thank you Val, Nolan, Josh (and my co-travelers).

The overall experience was very nice but the Orcas did not show up. We did see Humpbacks and dolphins. Obviously, Orcas are wild animals but it did take away from our over all experience to not see them. The owner told us this is the first time in 10 years that they did not have numerous Orcas in the area so who knows what is happening. The kayaking was also much colder than I expected. They should tell you to bring extra warm clothes that can get wet, including booties. Maybe this is my fault since I have only done warm weather kayaking. The location is beautiful and our guides (Reid, Josh, and Adam) were great. The food is good and the hot tub is a treat, and a great way to warm up. If you are comparing the experience to camping in a tent, calling it "glamping" makes sense. However, if you have been "glamping" in Africa, this is just fancy camping. You have cots in your tent but you do have to go up the hill in the dark to the outhouse.

What an awesome experience. The guides were amazing. It really is "Glamping" = "Glamour Camping". It's the most luxurious camping experience I can imagine. Gourmet food, all supplies provided, running glacier water, hot shower, hot tub and sauna, and the guides do all the hard work with a smile. It's owner operated by people who really love the work. It's no guarantee you will see Orcas at Orca Camp, but we did get to see them - once from our kayaks and once from the beach. The kayaking is always optional and ranges from beginner to intermediate levels of challenge.

Bring a waterproof case for your phone, a camera with a big zoom lens, binoculars, and an extra battery pack for your electronics. (There is no electricity.)

It will be much cooler than the weather forecast says; it's right on the water and always breezy.

The optional resort stays on either end of the trip were well worth it as well. Great food, fun activities, and very comfortable.
