We had ants in our room, quite a few in the bathroom and some in our bed. We couldn't find any soap except in the kitchenette a liquid dispenser with some in it, that didn't work . When we were leaving we found one small bar under a face cloth on the counter, none in the shower or any shampoo. We got in late and the office was closed but texted us the room number and code. went to find the room and it was down a floor, they could have told us so we didn't have to check the rooms on the main floor? The room was noisy with someone clomping around above us at 6 am on a Sunday morning. Leaving in the morning we could see down to the next level and the outside hallway, and it was a mess, junk and water all over. Sure glad we weren't put down there. The room was very large and seemed clean (except for ants) with a fireplace and jet tub. A very nice view of the bay. I definitely would not stay here again.

Stayed there night of our wedding, view was spectacular. Sunrise amazing. Room was delightful, bed comfy and rose petals on bed when we arrived, nice touch. Very quiet considering its on the highway. . We'll be back. Breakfast at restaurant was delicious too!

If you are looking for a full service resort, this isn't it. If however, you want a quiet room with a spectacular view, this is where you should book.

The Moon River Lodge is comfortably outside Victoria located on the side of the famous Malahat Drive. The rooms are spacious with a kitchenette, and every room has a spectacular view of the Saanich Peninsula across the channel.

The binder in the room gives a great history of the lodge, and the Malahat area. Worth the read (while sitting on the balcony).

The room was clean and ready for our arrival. On check in, we did have to go to the restaurant to get someone. Remember that you come to this area because it is laid back. The staff was friendly and the same folks that checked us in were also serving dinner that evening. (Which was delicious by the way).

Great for couples, and the rooms were very private. We were in room 10 which has windows facing the restaurant, so thankfully there were blinds on the windows. Once we were in the room, or on the balcony, the noise from the highway was practically non existent. We spent lots of time on the balcony looking at the view.

I'm not sure I would bring kids here, there is no pool, and any walking or hiking is in nearby parks. This is a great place to decompress.

We had dinner in the adjoining chalet. We took the server's recommendations (seafood) and were delighted with the quality and quantity of the dishes.

We had read the other reviews before staying here, and we did not experience any of the negative things other people had mentioned. From our experience, we would recommend this as a great getaway or retreat location.

Very beautiful view from the soaker tub. Happy to see bubble bath supplied This time. Clean and friendly. Was disappointed there was no microwave or a spoon. even a stir stick for the coffee. But overall a great place to stay.

We stayed one night for our anniversary, and had a great experience. Amazing view, awesome room, clean and comfortable, lovely tub and fireplace, and delicious food at the restaurant. We had great service from top to bottom, from the staff commenting on how they loved babies (ours did not stay the night, just made a debut), to the table delivery of my morning omelette. We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Visit in the colder months, zero highway noise if the patio door was closed. Though Im sure there is AC for the warmer months.
