We have always heard about the Glades and this was a first time visiting it this weekend. It was beautiful with a wide variety of Rhododendron in flowering stage. There were so many varieties and colours to enjoy. There is also a lot of benches along the way you can just sit and ponder the gardens. The bees were busy in all the flowers making it that much more beautiful.
There will be greenery later in the spring / summer but not like spring when it is a must see. There is events planned through the summer which you can check out on their website. Always someone around at a meeting spot to answer questions for you about plants to other. Washrooms at the start of the gardens. Flat easy walking trails for all.
Check online with them for opening days as they are not open all the time being operated by the City of Surrey. The land was given as a legacy by a family to enjoy for years to come and see all their hard work they did collecting species. It is well worth the time. Parking is free and admission is by donation. The grounds are kept up by volunteers.
Give yourself plenty of time to get lost in the gardens absorbing all the beauty it has to offer.
