Reminds me of experiences in the Valais and Haute Savoie.
They have very good cheese fondues (kids favourite) as well as Chinese and bourguignonne ones. Adults will enjoy the raclette as well as the tartiflette or the croutes (generous).
The service is very friendly.

Had seen this restaurant many times and heard about it but yesterday was my first time. Owner is super friendly, food is divine, we all had a great time. I had the tartiflette to start with, then oil fondue with bison, lemon pudding for dessert and coffee. Will return for sure.

We chose an excellent traditional fondue - other Alpine specials such as raclette also available. Cosy 'challet' style décor. Friendly staff.

In our world of rapidly changing culinary tastes and trends, it is always nice to revisit some of the traditional classics. The Mazot Suisse is one of them. Opened by Valaisan Théo Mathier sometime in the early 60s, the old Swiss-style restaurant still serves his time-honored recipes.

While fondues and raclettes are very popular, our favorite is La Croûte à Théo, a generous, slightly toasted slice of bread with Black Forest ham, Emmental cheese au gratin and a fried egg on top. Indeed, we were pleased to see that the current owners or administrators are sticking close to Theo's original recipe, yet with a slightly different taste to it. Delicious. One of the other classics here is the air dried beef, Viande de Grisons, which when freshly cut and very thinly sliced is a delicacy second to none, not to be missed.

The restaurant's décor and ambiance are typically old traditional Swiss and the service was friendly and attentive. The property is easy to miss because it sits on a hilly inside curve of Rte 117, so please be aware of oncoming traffic when crossing the road.

Make a reservation. This place was packed when we got there. No English menus, but not a big deal. The staff speaks fluent English. Service is good. Food was solid. Try and not sit by where they melt the cheese. Escargots and French Onion soup are good. Cheese fondue was the highlight. The thinly sliced beef that you dip into a bullion is just Okay. Try the Belgian beers they serve. Wine selection didn't impress, but the beer was cold and tasty. 3.5 stars.
