Hotel Patagonia Insular
Ranked #1 of 4 Quellon B&B and Inns
Reviewed 19 April 2015 via mobile

We expected a hotel outside the village and in the hills but is lies close to the centre. So, lot of traffic noise, barking dogs and smog. Staff in general looks more interested in eachother than in its customers. At breakfast we had to wait to get coffee as a customer. Wifi does not work in the rooms in the end of the corridor (where the best rooms are because of the view). Took very long time to get hot water in the shower. Not very environmental friendly. Good beds and matrasses, that's sometimes rare to find. Enough space in the room we had.
But, very overpriced as are many hotels in Chile. Food was a disaster, starters seemed okay at first but the taste was poor, but while we were still eating, the next plates came and the waitress just put it somewehere without asking. Crab was drowned in fatty cheese, couldn't eat it, looked like cat food. Ravioli was pale and half raw, sauce overdone with chili. Waitress only asked 'postre?'. Think Chile has a fast food mentality, hard to find healthy and good food. Too bad, we expected differently in a bit more expensive hotel like this one.

A group of 9 friends stayed in Hotel Patagonia Insular during the month of February 2015. We were impressed with the excellent service, clean rooms and incredible fast laundry service. The manager went out of his way to be sure that we had wi-fi connections and helped us to get a box lunch to take with us during one of our sea excursions. The food in the Hotel was excellent and presented very nicely as in any first class restaurant. Kudos to the chef! I will be there again in a blink of an eye.

Room Tip: Just call and they will give you the best available.

This hotel is located in Quellon, a small city where the Panamerican highway ends. All rooms have excellent view of volcanoes, fishing boats and water. We relaxed after a very long day of driving with a glass of wine at the bar and had dinner. Food is very good and service excellent. Nothing to complain about. I recommend this place if you decide to visit this part of the world.

This hotel has only see facing rooms, and when you are in Quellon, that means little fishing boats and snow-capped volcanos in the background. The rooms are "Ok", but the service is very friendly. A nice bar and very good restaurant complete this very nice hotel in Chiloe.

Room Tip: Some rooms have a little balcony

We booked a special offer for 2 nights and we could not have been happier about it. The hotel is pretty standard with nice and clean rooms and a lovely view onto the harbour of Quellón. There is no mini-bar or fridge in the room but that was no real problem for us. The restaurant serves really good food compared to other places in town and the breakfast is fresh and tasty. The best thing about this place is definitely the service. Everybody was very caring and courteous which is why we enjoyed our stay that much.
