Cupid's Haven is located in a converted church at the edge of the community of Cupids. The place has great charm and would be a lovely base for exploration of the other historic communities of Conception Bay. We stopped there for lunch. The menu is basic, featuring traditional Newfoundland foods. We chose fishcakes... normally a personal favourite... which arrived (after quite a long wait) on the plate with no other accompaniment, except for a commercial roll and a ridiculously small plastic container of coldslaw. It took two requests to the server to finally get butter for the rolls, which turned out to be margarine. This restaurant has great potential, but they need to add a little more sophistication to the presentation of their food, and the servers (at least the ones we had) need better orientation.

We decided to have an overnight in Cupids after a few days in Brigus and were very glad we stayed. This area is beautiful. An early check-in was available which was much appreciated and we were also invited to enjoy some homemade tea buns which were so good we purchased some to go the next day. Myself and my mother shared room #4 which had two twin beds and plenty of room for us. Pictures didn't do it justice. Room had high ceilings with a fan which kept us cool, bathroom was lovely with a walk-in shower, there is a small table and chairs in the room and a hallway which had enough room for suitcases. Beds were comfortable and the B&B was not noisy at night. Wi-Fi was a bit slow at times, but we barely used.

I hiked the burnt head trail which has amazing views and is a fairly easy trek, so peaceful, and trail access is just down the road from the B&B as is the theatre which we did not get a chance to see. There is a lovely gazebo on the property which we enjoyed sitting out in before our meal. Supper was delicious although we did have a little bit of a wait due to a large table/group being served. Staff were friendly and helpful, and our cod-au-gratin, touton and partridgeberry cake for dessert was well worth the wait (have also had the seafood chowder here on a lunch visit once before and it too was delicious). Hot breakfast was included the following morning and was more than adequate with eggs, hash browns, toast and a variety of meats if you choose, coffee, tea and orange juice. Check-out was 11 and we hated to leave. Thanks to all the wonderful staff at Cupid's Haven !

Room Tip: All but one of the rooms is on main floor and worked with mobility issues (no stairs)

We loved our stay! Our room was comfortable, the unique architecture of a converted church added to the charm. Our hosts were so nice and the breakfast was yummy. The Burnt Head trail is right out back and we walked if 3 times. Thank you for making our stay in Cupids memorable.

We visited Cupids Legacy Center and they suggested trying this location for a bite to eat. It is a converted church just a few kilometres outside of Cupids. We are so glad we stopped in here. The food was outstanding - you must try their toutons. We wished we had stayed here. The location is gorgeous.

We arrived at the bed and breakfast in mid afternoon. Rooms were very nice and clean. Nice gazebo in the back yard to enjoy the afternoon. Visited the old graveyard and its old tombstones. Had dinner at the restaurant. Good food and reasonable prices. Very quiet location. Breakfast the next morning was very good.
