We were at the Sunchaser for 3 nights. We had never been here before so we were unfamiliar with the property. They put in in building 8100 - the 'new' building & overlooking the parking lot - probably where they put all RCI traders Our one bedroom unit was comfortable and nicely furnished. But it's the oddest building because we are overlooking the parking lot and our patio/balcony is a thoroughfare for people staying in this building. We spent very little time out there anyway since it was very cool and rainy for most of our stay. This is a fine place for a few days but if you are trading into the Sunchaser, be prepared to be put in the least desirable building. Building 8100 is also far from the rest of the resort and activities. You must drive there for any activities or to the main office.

Room tip: Ask to not be put in building 8100

My family and I have been going to Fairmont every year for the last 21 years. Each year is a wonderful experience as the children became adults and we do something different each year. Golf courses at Riverside and Mountainside are wonderful and extremely beautiful.

Room tip: Get a corner room as they have the larger patios or balconies.

The Sunchaser at Riverside was a great place to spend the week in Fairmont Hot Springs. The rooms were clean and well equipped. The indoor pool and hot tub were well maintained. We stayed in the newly renovated section, and were surprised that the lighting was not very good in the whole villa. The bathroom was pretty dim for shaving and make-up application. The rear door to the patio was also poorly installed with a large gap enough to admit a wasp into the room.

But the staff was courteous and very professional. The location is not too bad either, being two hours to lake Louise and two hours to Banff. Radium Hot Springs was only about 20 minutes away.

An accommodation certificate from Interval International was the catalyst for getting us to Fairmont B.C.. The check-in information was a bit unclear; we went to the Riverside condos first only to discover that we had to find a different location across the bridge (maybe a 1.5 kilometer away) where checking in went quickly.

We were glad that there was an elevator to use to take up ALL OUR STUFF to our third floor unit.
We were so pleased with the spaciousness of the one-bedroom unit and the furnishings which complemented the quite modern-looking interior finish. A surprise was that the tables looked as if they had drawers but in reality they were false fronts.
The upholstery on the day-niter was a bit was bit a worn looking but really it was OK. The kitchen was well equipped with most things you'd need for a long stay but a pot-scrubber would have been nice.
The bonus was the third floor location which overlooked the fairway. From our balcony you could see the Rockies rising up to the east and enjoy watching the golfers as they progressed their way up the fairway which paralleled the loops in the the river-hence the name Riverview. The balcony had a gas BBQ and was a great place to see the rising sun and have a relaxing drink and watch the sunset.
All of the activity amenities where however back where we checked in-a bit of an inconvenience.
A Positive: We had a quick response with getting a working hair dryer. How nice to have a washer-dryer to use!
Another small negative: the telephone had no directions on which of the numerous buttons to push but we were able to figure it out.

What a relaxing place to stay!

Room tip: The third and fourth floors give the best views.

The accommodations offered in the main resort location may be great but if you have been placed in the RoverSide bldg, you are a drive away from the all the facilities, personnel and services AND if your room faces the parking lot - you are out of luck, all your units' windows and doors are to the bldg hall and everyone passing through can see inside your unit; actually your bbq and seats are set in the hall (strange). I must compliment the wide range of activities offered and the lady in charge - she makes a difference.
