We have stayed at this hotel several times. It is located on the ski hill, and you can walk easily to get to the downhill slopes and is directly across the parking lot from the nordic ski track. The units are all individually owned and decorated by the owners, some have been renovated and these cost a bit more, others have not and are a bit dated inside. Although some can we blamed on the visitors, I talked with one owner while there who mentioned they put a new coffee table in their unit as the old one was damaged, and the next time they came the new one was damaged. All the units we have stayed in are kept extremely clean, one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed. The ones I have stayed in have kitchens, again the plates/pans/cutlery vary from unit to unit, but have always had enough to cook with while there. Again beds can vary unit to unit, from very comfy to okay. The staff at the front desk are very helpful in explaining your unit and how to get to places around Kimberley. We stay there everytime we go skiing in Kimberley, it is also cheaper than some of the new hotels being built in the area.

We were on a self-guided circle tour of the Kootenays and decided to just get the rooms as we travelled rather than book in advance, except for the first couple of nights. When we arrived at Kimberley, we had just stayed at an extremely *rustic* cabin for a couple of nights (pre-booked or we would not have stayed that long), and were looking for any place that was clean and comfortable.

When we arrived at the Kirkwood Inn, we were pleasantly surprised. The Inn is actually a series of condos, individually owned and decorated. We had a one bedroom condo that was beautifully and tastefully decorated, complete with fireplace, jetted tub and barbecue on the private patio.

The suite was very clean, and the front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately, the weather was too cold for the pool (it was closed) and the hot tub was out of order. With the jetted tub in the suite, however, it wasn't a great loss for us.

The next time we visit Kimberley, we would definitely plan to stay at the Kirkwood Inn.
