We chose this motel because it was affordable, offered free breakfast & pet friendly.
I'm sure back when it was first built (it was originally a Best Western) it was a happening place as it has an indoor & outdoor pool (although both were not open when we were there) basketball court, spa etc...however décor wise, it could use a bit of an updating.
That aside, our room was clean, staff were friendly, the free breakfast was appreciated, it was quiet at night time and we liked that our room was in a courtyard setting.
Another bonus was that there's a wooded trail a 5 minute walk away (behind the No Frills on King st) which was great for walking the dog (just beware that the region is heavily infested with deer ticks though!)
So if you want an old school style motel that's clean & affordable, this place is for you...if you desire more sleek or modern décor, stay elsewhere (as there's plenty of other motel chains along the same stretch as this place)

Room Tip: Courtyard room is great if you have pets

I booked this hotel a couple months in advanced, it wasn't easy dealing with the staff on the phone. I booked 4 rooms for a wedding in the area. The rooms were somewhat clean, out dated and the beds were like sleeping on the floor. I myself stayed the cottage with the queen bed. For 129.99 + tax, which is considered a good rate on a weekend in Gananoque. The room was nice except that the cottage had a huge tilt in it. It felt like you were falling over. The hotel itself was under a reno, they are charging resort fees with very little amenities available. The breakfest was egss and some type of sausage and toast, we went into town to eat. I would not recommend this hotel.

Booked this hotel because it was highly recommended by friends but their stays must have been some time ago as we were very disappointed. The hotel is dated but our biggest complaint was how dirty our rooms were .... don't mind a dated building but do expect cleanliness. The bathroom floors had hair that wasn't ours and would not want to be without footwear anywhere in the rooms. The tops of the heaters and other areas were filthy which gave a clue as to how much attention is paid when the rooms are cleaned. Had a screened veranda but there was a large hole in the screen and the chairs were covered in dust/dirt. The breakfast selection was very sparse and they served frozen eggo waffles! On the positive side the beds were very comfortable and I think the bathroom had received some updating but the toilet paper must be the cheapest money can buy. The outside property around the pool is beautiful but doesn't make up for the shape the rooms are in where we were located.

Room Tip: Don't recommend staying at this hotel.

Country Squire Resorts is Old School Gananoque,if this wall could talk the stories would be amazing,

The place is great, in the summer it must be twice more fun and try the restaurant good price good food and great staff.

The staff is real great any info any question the are always happy to help out and some of them speak French and the know the area.

If you are in Gananoque visiting give this place a chance, It think its a great place for couples, friend , family.

Price per night was $55 less than major hotel just beside Country Squire. Older facility but room was large and clean. Bonus was jacuzzi tub. Easy check in and just return the key for checkout. Breakfast room is in a separate building and I had to go outside in the rain to get there but it was worth it. Sausages and scrambled eggs cooked to order plus usual continental breakfast amenities. Room had a porch which overlooked a small pool surrounded by pine trees -- very rustic. Beds comfortable.

Room Tip: Breakfast room is on right side of complex.
