Recto Verso is a small restaurant with a nice "homey" atmosphere. They have à la carte menu as well as a tasting menu composed of several courses. On Wednesdays, which happened to be the day we visited, they also have a special menu on which you can pick an entree and get the second one for free. We shared a "Queue de castor" as an appetizer which was sooo delicious!!! A little Quebec twist on a pizza which pleased us sooo much! We then had a fancy shepherd's pie (soooo good! highly recommend!) and the fish dish (also excellent!). We shared the ice cream sandwich which was also super tasty and nicely presented. The coffees were freshly made which was also a nice bonus!

I really wish they had more options as far as Quebec wines *wink wink* but we still found some options that turned out to be lovely!

Our waiter, Max, was kind and extremely helpful! He offered outstanding service throughout our experience and even gave us recommendations at the end of the meal! We had a wonderful time and we will be back!

In recent past, three top restaurants in this region have closed. With twelve years of experience, Recto Verso should be the good restaurant. Maybe it's me that I'm not wild about local Québécois cuisine, but I think Recto Verso tries too hard.
My wife ani with another couple had a weekend supper there. We each
had a two or three course meal w coffee. There were three very good dishes: a carrot soup, an Arctic Char substitute for the listed fish, and two desserts - Creme brûlée and a multiple chocolate dish. Three mains and two appetizers were average at best. For example, my lamb, pulled lamb on too many onions, an over salted sauce, topped by a very fatty small chop (two good bites) was unfinishable.
Go for a simpler, more delicious menu, Recto Verso!
Service also was unsatisfactory: good knowledge and very personable, but we waited too long on every element.

We went to resto verso for our anniversary. For those who are really hungry, the "menu dégustation" looks great for 60$/pp and a ton of good food. Otherwise, the menu à la carte is great. Quick service, food was delicious, we were really well surprised. A must for a lovely dinner!

Had such a delightful evening at this charming, welcoming restaurant. We were warmly greeted by our waiter who kindly seated us by the fireplace . We started with a great bottle of white wine (the wine list is really interesting, great variety , many private imports ) . We had the French fries with apples just to nibble while we decided what to order for the rest. We had so much food and wine that I can't clearly remember everything that we ordered but I remember the gravlax and a revamped grilled cheese as appetizers (both equally delicious but not equally decadent!) . We also tried as main courses, the duck, the beef and the grilled fish of the day ...all the plates were devoured. Bruno the chef came to our table, he is very friendly and passionate about his work . We finished the evening at the bar , a night to remember!

We were there to have dinner. They suggested to us the dinner special at $ 69.90.
They told us it was a degustation menu (Tapas) and that they had a different wine for all the different courses. we tought the wine was included because they never mentioned it was not. So we ended having a check for $ 140.00 per person !!!!!!
and we were still hungry. So if you go there make sure of what is included and what is not because you could end up doing the dishes!!!
