We had a two bed unit, with a kitchenette area that had a full stove - four burners and an oven. It would be an excellent value for a family and it worked fine for us. The town seems to have two centers, maybe more, so we walked to dinner one night but had to drive for most shopping. The woman in charge was helpful, informing us about the toy run that would clog up the highway, and lending us a saucepan good for boiling eggs.
A suggestion for improvement would be to have a window that was operable, so that fresh air could come in. We ran the air conditioner in the bedroom on fan, but it did not push much air into the main room. We also left the door open in early evening, but that might not work in summer when I suspect there are mosquitoes. Port Alberni was nearly all booked because of the toy run, so we were glad the Riverside had room for us
