Having received a tip from a fellow traveller, we booked for two nights, thinking we would spend a full day in Midland and then move on. Even if we had not found it necessary to stay longer to see what still is just a part of what there is to do in that area, we likely would have wished to stay on for a couple more nights (which we did, happily)? When it was time to go, we almost felt we were leaving a home away from home, although we don’t often have such delicious breakfasts as those Ross prepared for us. Alicia provided sound advice on places to visit. Evening chats following our touring was a lovely way to end our days. We definitely will be back to the Georgian Bay area and if it takes us close to Midland, we will want to stay at the Captain’s House for sure.
Alicia and Ross provided my mother and I with a lovely stay at their historic home in Midland. We came to the area to tour the S.S. Keewatin and were so happy to find a captain's house nearby to complement our visit. Ross provided tea on our arrival, which we enjoyed in their garden. They recommended some dinner options and we enjoyed our walk through the town at sunset. The bed was so, so, so comfortable. I slept well that night. And we really enjoyed talking with Ross and Alicia. They both asked good questions and we would have liked to have stayed longer to get to know them even better. Overall a very positive and enjoyable experience. Thank you!
