“Look forward to going back”
Reviewed 31 May 2012

My husband and I spent last weekend at the Georgetown Inn and were very pleased with our stay. The small old English atmosphere was very relaxing and very central in the town so it was easy to walk to most places and trails. Our room was very clean and updated with a comfy bed. It was possible to open windows which was nice to hear the birds in the morning. When we arrived in our room, there were 2 large homemade cookies there, a nice homey gesture. Included in the price was a full breakfast each morning. We ate both nights at the English style pub restaurant as the menu was great, the service was great and the prices were fair. Because we were there for my birthday, they delivered chocolate covered strawberries to the room, again a nice gesture. Unfortunately the weather was not real warm so we were not able to use the large patio with fireplace (and playcentre for families).
The only thing I would like to see different was to have a safe in the room for valuables when going out.
Otherwise, I would not hesitate to recommend the Georgetown Inn to other travellers and I hope to have the opportunity to return.

We stayed here for 2 night. Breakfast was great, cooked to order. We tried a few different things and they all tasted great. Nice service overall. We had a very lovely view over the mountains. They were going for an older theme which reflected in the look of the room. But still everything was there. Nice and clean ensuite bathroom. We enjoyed our stay here

My husband and I stayed for two nights last weekend. It was our second time staying here, we like it so much. There aren't many Inns as unique and quaint as this one around. The value is great as breakfast is included in the rate, and it is a full breakfast cooked to order, not a continental like most. Every corner is full of interesting antiques and artifacts, and our Victoria Room was beautiful, with unique trinkets on top of the fireplace; it's a cozy room you never want to leave. When we arrived they put a tea tray out with beautiful shabby chic china cups, a teapot shaped like a house and two outmeal raisin cookies for us. We also borrowed a deck of cards and Scrabble board game from the front desk to play in our room with wine. We ate at the pub for dinner and breakfast both days. The food is good, I had the eggwich for breakfast both days. The pub is like a genuine English pub you would find in the UK. As soon as we got to the Inn I felt a sense of peace come over me. We will be going back for many years so I hope it always stays open.

There are lots of restaurants in Canmore, but in May most are empty so go to the George. Excellent pub food in warm friendly atmosphere, and always full! Fish (halibut) and chips were superb. Also try the Elk meat balls in mushroom sauce. We ended up going there three times in the week - something we never do usually but it was always reliable and good food and inexpensive!

My late night check in was recieved very hospitably, with a very friendly Front desk agent. She was very nice and incredibly informative about the area. The room was so cozy, quaint, and came with fresh oatmeal raisin cookies. The bed was extremely comfortable. The next morning i was ready for my complimentary breakfast at 730, the time i was certain the restaurant opened but found it closed. A new front desk agent was just coming in and explained that that time was only for the weekends, but she had the cook open the restaurant for me anyway, as i had a client meeting at 9. I was so pleased and happy at the exceptional service provied and will definetly be making it my hotel of choice from now on. The rate was exceptional, the hotel was exquisite, and the customer service cemented the deal. Thank you!
