Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: Only 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver, allow 2 - 3 hours for your visit to Vancouver's iconic Capilano Suspension Bridge, hanging 450 feet (137m) across and 230 feet (70m) above Capilano River. The park offers more than just the bridge. Its surrounding 27 acres celebrate nature, history and culture in unique and thrilling ways. No more so than with the newest attraction, CLIFFWALK. Cliffwalk hangs for 213m (700ft) and reaches 91m (300ft) high, hugging the granite cliffside and offering a panoramic view of the thriving rainforest and canyon far below. On Treetops Adventure venture from one magnificent old growth Douglas-fir to another on a series of seven elevated suspension bridges, reaching as high as 110 feet (33m), for a squirrel's eye view of the forest. Guides, signage and interactive exhibits throughout the park help you in your understanding of rainforest ecosystems and their sustainability.

If you’re visiting Vancouver, you need to put this on your list. The place is literally and figuratively breathtaking.

There are three key activities and one newly opened restaurant you should be sure to tackle.

Suspension bridge: Scarier than I thought it would be, but visually stunning. The bridge can sway quite a bit, but park staff told us it would support two 747’s.

Cliffwalk: No pictures we took could do justice to what a cool feat of engineering this is - with spectacular views.

Treetops Adventures: These are platforms way up in the trees connected by suspended walk ways. Very cool.

The Cliffhouse Restaurant & Bar: This place opened about a month ago and has great atmosphere, food and service. Would have rated as a restaurant, but not yet up on TA as a restaurant.

* There is a free shuttle bus from downtown that picks up at four places then heads to the park - quick and easy. We got picked up at the Hyatt Regency Melville entrance. The bus comes every 15 mins.

* Wear sturdy, comfortable shoes. Lots of walking and some on on uneven surfaces.

* If you go on a clear day, go early, then take a taxi (7 mins) to the Grouse Mountain base and take the Skyride to the top. We decided to do this last minute and we were not disappointed.

Get your CAA/AAA discount at the ticket booth but can't get it on line. Be ready for the bridge to sway A LOT - they don't regulate how many are to be on the bridge at one time making it difficult to enjoy and take a couple of pictures. It is amazing to see the waterfalls, trees, greenery. Walking up through the trees was amazing. The cliff walk was slow because of all the people there but it was awesome as well.

Wife and I took our 16 yr old son. Low impact hiking, suspension bridge is about as safe as anyone could imagine. Views are amazing.

Had a morning to spend so I got free shuttle bus from town. Very smooth pick up drop off etc and the park itself is a great place to spend a morning. The sun is was shining which added to the visit. I recommend booking online avoiding queues etc. Reasonably priced too.

This is one of Vancouver’s most beautiful spots and a definite must when you visit the city, a great nature walk with amazing sights of the Capilano river, creeks and cascades, the store has unique amenities from the region, restaurants with good food, you are in for a great time...
