If you’re visiting Vancouver, you need to put this on your list. The place is literally and figuratively breathtaking.
There are three key activities and one newly opened restaurant you should be sure to tackle.
Suspension bridge: Scarier than I thought it would be, but visually stunning. The bridge can sway quite a bit, but park staff told us it would support two 747’s.
Cliffwalk: No pictures we took could do justice to what a cool feat of engineering this is - with spectacular views.
Treetops Adventures: These are platforms way up in the trees connected by suspended walk ways. Very cool.
The Cliffhouse Restaurant & Bar: This place opened about a month ago and has great atmosphere, food and service. Would have rated as a restaurant, but not yet up on TA as a restaurant.
* There is a free shuttle bus from downtown that picks up at four places then heads to the park - quick and easy. We got picked up at the Hyatt Regency Melville entrance. The bus comes every 15 mins.
* Wear sturdy, comfortable shoes. Lots of walking and some on on uneven surfaces.
* If you go on a clear day, go early, then take a taxi (7 mins) to the Grouse Mountain base and take the Skyride to the top. We decided to do this last minute and we were not disappointed.
