It had been many years since we last stayed in Derbyshire and we had decided to rent a cottage this time. We wanted somewhere nice (obviously), in a peaceful setting (we like quiet) but still being fairly central for the peak district area we wanted to explore - so when we discovered the Courtyard Creamery on TripAdvisor, we thought it would be perfect and so it proved to be.
We had a wonderful few days there - the kitchen is nicely stocked with all the implements needed (including a nespresso coffee machine - nice), the sofa was comfy, the bed perhaps too soft (for my taste) and there was a little private patio area at the back from where you could see absolutely no-one (do a few cows count?) except some glorious sunsets - it was lovely. My wife would have liked a light above the bathroom mirror - apparently that's important though I managed lol. And it was great as a base - everywhere we wanted to go was not much more than 30 minutes drive away and we will definately look it up when we are ready to return.
Courtyard Creamery is beautifully situated, scenery is stunning.
The accommodation is very nice and the owners very helpful.
This review is long over due as i stayed here over a year ago!
The Court Yard Creamery was one of the nicest places I have stayed in! The house was the perfect size for a couple, everything was clean and amazingly presented.
Although the set up means you are right next to the main house, we still felt it was really private but Jane was there whenever we needed her (especially when we got horribly lost driving home in the evening!). We even had our own little patio round the back of the house with an amazing view.
The area has some amazing walking trails and some really nice little pubs with great food.
I would defiantly recommend the Court Yard Creamery to anyone that wants a peaceful getaway.
We loved the Courtyard Creamery. Stunning setting, fabulous view of the sunset from the living room, comfy, cosy, so quiet you can hear a pin drop, great bathroom and kitchen, well equipped AND brownies waiting for us when we arrived! Can't wait for another stay, thanks so much.
We spent a long weekend at Courtyard Creamery as part of our first visit to the Peak District and I couldn't have chosen a better place to base myself for three days. We were welcomed by unseasonal snow but the holiday let was warm and cosy and came packed with everything you would need to have a stress free break.
The terrace at the back hosts wonderful views over the valley and provides ample opportunity for you to be enveloped in your surroundings. Jane and Richard were very welcoming and whilst part of a larger farm, privacy and peace and quiet is not compromised. I would recommend and look forward to visiting again in the warmer months.
