We are in Italy on a beautiful vacation and following a friend suggestiong we decided to celebrate Easter Sunday at La Meridiana; it is a beautiful restaurant just in front of the sea with a breathtaking scenario that should be great during summer.
As soon as you entered the front door, you see a stunning envoronment with a tastefull decoration all in neutral tone from brown to sand colours...(sorry for that I m a decorato
Anyway the place was packed so I was afraid service would have been slow and approximate not to talk aout the food....well i was completely wrong.
The waiters were all very carefull polite and well trained: it probably means the personnel is carefully selected.
The first surprise was that before taking our order, the waiter came and serve us a glass of prosecco: this was a warm welcoming. As there was not a fixed price menu I had a look at the menu and tried to refresh my Italian....Thx God the owner came to our table although the place was packed as said before: I had a chance to briefly talked to him and he seems a very nice guy; he helped us with the menu and give some suggestions.
I went for Pasqualina cake with a cheese mousse for entreè: this seems to be a variation of a tipical Easter cake with eggs and artichokes. It was crisy, the mousse was soft and not to strong to cover down the other flavours...tasty
The main dish was a kind of ravioli fulfilled with shrimps and artichokes: a good combination that I tried before in London: thx God they were not overcooked and the taste was fine. Nothing was precooked and that is definitely a plus: I prefer to wait a little longer without complaining if I am served fresh food cooked at the time I order instead of an istantly served pre-cooked dished warmed up just right before being served at the table.
even if stuffed, I went my way for an other tipical Easter food: lamb with potatoes. well aromatized tender and tasty.
the food was great nothing to complaint about. I was stuffed so I decline the dessert. Wine list was fair.A good ratio quality price: definitely a plus.
but again what really surprised me, was that the placewas packed and despite this, the service was attentive ready and reasonably fast (considering who crowded it was)
I will definitely come back perhaps for a pizza? and strongly suggest this place to everybody

the dining room is decorated with good taste with warm tones of sand nadbrown, chairs and tables are of wood and of good quality and so I have to say for the linens.
the lights contributes to give subtilies to the environment.
service is out of question one of the best of the area, with competent people who know their job and business.
there is a fair choice of fine wines and the menu is ..yummy..
I had a chance to have dinner sìquite often there: the entree (a focaccia with olive, little tomatoes and olive oil) is something you wouldn't miss.
the pizza is fair and the ingredient are of high quality..you won't be shoked at your tsble with as pizza half empy where you can barely see some mozzarella and i underline that what I ate was of extremely good quality.
round steak au ou poivre verte is one of mu classic: the cut of the beef was right with just righ amount of fat and cooked perfecltyas raw as it should be( or at leat as raw as I love)
for my birthday we have seafood entree which was particulary tasty, nothinh was missing and the fried fishes was equally good.
there is a big varanda opened on summer i guess where you can have your meal outside and romantically overview the sea.
i suppose desserts are of the same standard.
personell, the chef and the owner are all nice people whom i liked to exchange some chat to.
price is reasonable given the quality and service, so no doubt in advising and encouraging friends in trying this place.
