VACASA IS A TERRIBLE PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COMPANY
They attempted to call me back ONCE out of the 4 times I called and left messages. I always went directly to voice mail, and never once spoke with a human. Thank goodness there were no critical issues!
YOU ARE ASKED TO TAKE OUT TRASH ON FRIDAY MORNING BY 7AM
We arrived to find 2 full trash cans and some trash strewn in backyard. Hauling 2 full barrels of trash (none of which was ours!) over the fence, through the snow to the curb BY 7AM, while on vacation, was NOT fun. You would think that Vacasa could arrange to handle the trash so that guests arriving Saturday through Thursday don't have to take out the trash of previous guests.
-Bed coverings are old and light. Blankets are old and not very warm either.
-All 3 couches are very run down. They all should be replaced.
-One of the couches has a broken metal spring on the top, which inconspicuously pokes out of the fabric and badly scratched my son (who seemed to find all of the dangerous spots in the house).
-There are exposed carpet tacks near the front door as well as between the bathroom and bedroom. BAD for bare feet.
-There is no fire alarm on the entire first floor.
-Backyard gate partially broken, so dogs can easily jump over.
-The home is not very private. You are pretty close to neighbors on either side and you can hear the traffic on the streets around. (So, if you're looking for that tucked away log-cabin in the woods, keep looking!)
-NO sign of ANY spices in the kitchen, i.e. salt, pepper, sugar, oils, etc.
-There's a flat bottom coffee maker, and half-used packs of cone shaped filters
-There was a 1/2 roll of paper towels left, but no kitchen dish towels.
-There are NO DVDs or Board Games (so pack them if you want them).
-There's a drawer full of formerly blank VHS tapes with movies recorded on them and hand written labels.
PROS (I'm fair):
-It's pet friendly. Dogs are allowed. (Perhaps this is why they have nasty couches?)
-Lots of clean bathroom linens
-Tissue paper, toilet paper, soaps, small shampoo/conditioner provided
-Very firm mattresses (I consider this a plus)
-Remodeled Jack/Jill Bathroom/Shower is nice
-Hot tub in backyard (though there are no instructions to tell you how to use it. You'll have to figure that out on your own.)
-Plenty of cups, bowls, plates, utensils, and some cookware.
I have been vacationing in Lake Tahoe for over 20 years, so I've had quite a lot of experience with rentals here. With so many rentals available in Lake Tahoe who have courteous and responsive management, at competitive prices, I see no reason to ever rent this property again. Nor will I ever rent from any properties managed by Vacasa again.
