We stayed one night in the Spa building in a lovely quiet room overlooking the beautiful forrest. The staff service throughout the resort is superb, as good as you could expect anywhere in the world at a top resort. The food again was superb in the main restaurant at dinner and breakfast, faultless, excellent quality and choice. The paddleboard and tennis court are of good quality.
The Spa facilities and outdoor swimming pool were disappointing and did not meet our expectations. It may be because we stayed at Quinta da Comporta for a few nights and Sublime does not compare well against these facilities. The Spa indoor pool is tiny, the steam room and sauna operate on a diy basis, the jacuzzi outside appears a bit cheap and an afterthought. The outdoor pool is freezing even though the weather was hot and sunny, and it's not heated. The bicycles available for hotel residents were of poor quality and not in a good state of repair. Children were using the Spa area and swimming pool even though they had a separate area so this may disappoint adults looking for a wellbeing escape.
Sublime could improve its facilities to match Quinta da Comporta. Quinta need to improve their food and staff service. A hybrid of the two would be perfect.

My favorite hotel in the Alentejo. Though I only had one night here, this hotel remains a highlight of my time in Portugal. From the moment the gates opened onto the shaded drive, I felt like I was being ushered into something special, something unique: a secret oasis. The buildings are nestled into the beautiful landscaping making the whole place feel like it has been there for as long as the Cork trees. Every single thing felt like it was in harmony with its setting. In my travels, a wonderful bed, gorgeous amenities and delicious food can be found at most five star hotels but for me, what made Sublime truly sublime was the staff. From the porters to the sommelier, everyone I encountered wore a smile and went out of their way to be helpful and accomodating. At check out, the attendant noticed my water was almost empty and gave me two boxed waters for the road. There was ample decaf nespresso pods in my room, per my request. I can't wait to visit again. Sheer heaven.

Beautiful hotel. The landscaping is amazing and beautifully maintained. Breakfast was really good and the service was great. The service throughout the hotel is friendly and helpful. I love the Beach Club and Sal. It rained most of the time that I was there and a friend went last year and the same time and said it rained most of the time so October may not be a good time to visit. I booked my room 10 weeks in advance and was shocked that I was put in a handicapped room. The bathroom situation was really unattractive. It was never mentioned in my reservation that I would be in a handicapped room. Very disappointing.
