The hosts are extraordinary: very respectful of your privacy and plans, but large and engaging personalities happy to chat or help. The room is the upstairs of an ell off the back of the house, so the ceiling of the rooms (two) is the roof of the building--sloped steeply. Nevertheless, the space is and feels large. A small kitchen table is the only desk-like surface, but wifi and such is fine. There is much too much to see and do just on foot or bike; a car makes almost too many possibilities. I highly recommend the easily-walked three-mile path to Hutton-le-Hole and the Ryedale Folk Museum there. The pub in Gillamoor (a mile walk) is very good. Farm shops at the various local farms are mostly unstaffed and run on the honor principle: take potatoes, leeks, tomatoes, broccoli, eggs, put the money in a cup on the counter. Amazing.

What a gem of a place! A well equipped flat in an idyllic location. It really was the perfect weekend retreat thanks to a warm welcome by Lin, walks from the front door and a tasty evening meal provided by the nearby pub!
We were very happy with this rental. The apartment is small and cosy - but not too small. The bedroom in particular is quite spacious. The view from the kitchen window is lovely. The owners and their dogs were friendly without being intrusive. The farm is a few miles out of the nearest village in glorious isolation and you don't hear anything from the farming activities.
It is up a set of wooden stairs so perhaps not best for those with mobility issues, and the bedroom is over their utility room/back porch, so you do hear them come and go a bit, but it wasn't too intrusive.
This is a really lovely area for walking, not too far to the coast, and nearby Kirkbymoorside will meet your needs for basic food, petrol, etc.
A very good holiday.
Wow what an excellent find, Lin and Peter were amazing, very accommodating.
The room was very clean and comfortable, bright and airy with all amenities.
Fresh clean towels/bed linen
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Easy access to Pickering, Helmsley etc. lovely market towns.
Will definitely use again, and highly recommend.
Boonhill was one of the most well equipped places we have ever stayed at and we have stayed in quite a few! The apartment was very cosy, an ideal base for walkers exploring the wonderful Yorkshire Moors. Well placed for local village pubs and restaurants, no shortage of choices. Thank you Lin and Peter for the warm welcome.
