We read the TripAdvisor comments just after booking the white stone Ionian house villa - and everything told by the reviews was correct. Absolutely perfect stay, excellent service with every day cleaning up and fresh bread. The villa is in perfect shape - everything you need is there. The building itself is far above Greek standard, with excellent furniture and, very important, mosquito nets at each window and door. We spent relaxing and peaceful holidays. Absolutely no criticism; the only "negative" aspect does not concern the villa but the quite rough road to the villa; very steep from Agios Nikitas. But, as I said: Perfect accommodation for a relaxing stay on the island of Lefkas.
Well ..... what can i say! It was just perfect.
We were so looking forward to it, but when we arrived and met Egla to be shown around the place it was even more fantastic than we had imagined and way beyond our expectations. From the minute we drove in through the gates it felt that a weight had been lifted: the gardens and outside space felt so tranquil and calm. Then when we were shown into the house, it was just amazing. So tastefully decorated and furnished and cool and above all comfortable. The children immediately wanted to get into the pool! We felt very relaxed from the start. The bedrooms were very comfortable with lots of storage space for bags and clothes. The beds were comfy with lovely crisp linen, which was changed every 2 days, along with fresh towels. The children’s bedroom was perfect, the cot was fantastic with a mattress and our son slept well in it. We also had potty, toilet seat and stool for him as well as a stair gate at the top of the stairs. These were great. The bathrooms were very clean and the lovely natural products that are left in both bathrooms are wonderful. I didn’t expect a basket of toiletries to be left in the house, but these included toothbrushes, toothpaste, face wipes, cotton wool pads, cotton buds, sanitary towels. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you would need. We ate at home most of the time because of the children being so young, so used the kitchen a lot. When we arrived the cupboards were full of basic food items and the fridge was full: there was pasta, rice, passatta, tuna, honey, jam, crackers, biscuits, cereal, bread, butter, tomatoes, cucumber, onions, milk, juice, beer, wine, cans of soft drinks, feta, apricots, pears, melon. Herbs, spices, olives, oil and dressing, coffee, coffee capsules, teabags. Basically enough food to certainly tide you over for a few days. This is most definitely above and beyond what I’ve experienced before and such a lovely thing to arrive to. There is an umbrella and spike for the beach as well as a washing machine, supplied with washing detergent! There is everything you need for a very comfortable holiday.
The outdoor space is great. We stayed in villa 1 which has an L shaped pool and has a lot of patio/decking area which was great for the kids. They were also able to go down in to the garden in front of the house and play amongst the olive trees. The pool was fab and very clean. The pool guy came 3 or 4 times during our 2 week stay to clean the pool. Both him and Egla were so very discreet when they were doing their work. You barely noticed them being there, and we spent a lot of time at the villa.
Egla is just wonderful, she is so friendly and again discreet. She comes every day to clean the house and bring fresh bread. She empties the bins and changes beds/towels every 2nd day. The place is spotless both inside and out.
We rented a boat from Nidri and went out around the islands for the day, stopping in Vathi for lunch. It was a great day and very easy, even with the 2 little children. We had brought our own life jacket for our 2 year old but the life jackets supplied for the children were actually of a good quality and safe. The boat was very clean, well maintained and in good order. We even caught a fish off the back of the boat which we later threw on the bbq!
We were lucky that we had lovely weather, the first week was warm and in the mid to high 20s but the second week was in the high 20’s/low30’s which was lovely and made the pool that bit warmer.
Agios Nikitas is a lovely little village with 3 small supermarkets where you can buy almost everything you need. A Trip to Lefkas town for meat and fish is recommended. We went to the local Lidl in Lefkas which was very good. We ate in Agios Nikitas and the food was delicious, and the children were well catered for. We even left the restaurant with a rather large toy tractor on loan, from the Granny!
We have had a wonderful and relaxing holiday and we would definitely like to return to you in the future, it felt like a home from home.
I'm reluctantly adding this review, as i really don't want others to discover this Gem!
Lovely villa with everything thought of to make for an easy and relaxing holiday. Kitchen very well equipped, lovely fresh bread daily, high spec bathrooms and beautiful bed linen. Pool was a great size and lots of areas to sit with lovely views. Very peaceful surroundings. Drive up to villa was slightly steep but not far and very little traffic so easily managed. Some beautiful nearby beaches and great places to eat out in the village. Great communication with Naya at all times and very friendly greeting when we arrived.
We were blown away from the moment we arrived, the location, beautiful organic surroundings with unspoilt views off in every direction. Everything is considered from the basics required to start your holiday to the housekeeping service, fresh bread delivered every morning, your bed linen and towels changed every other day, regular pool cleaning and daily villa clean, and fresh wild flowers too!
We spent most of our time at the villa, we were blessed with great weather, the pool is a perfect temperature, we felt spoilt, the super king bed is wonderfully comfortable and the linen top quality. Everything about the decor, furnishings and architecture of the villa has been carefully and bespokely designed and considered.
We laid in bed or on the patio and tried to think of something we would add, change or fix, NOTHING!
The village of Agios Nikita is a 20 minute walk or a few mins in the car, again picture postcard, a gorgeous little cobbled street with delightful restaurants lining both sides. There are 3 mini supermarkets in the village adequately supplying most foods, although I'd recommend getting your fish and meat products in Lefkas Town as the frozen selection wasn't the best.
Lefkas Town too is a must, the harbour and maze of old streets, a fabulous high street with quality shops, boutiques and many eating options lining old streets and the town square.
Tony and I have already said we will come back, perhaps as early as September, we feel we found a gem with the villa, reluctant to say more and give away one of Greece's perfect escapes!!
Wonderful holiday and we miss the villa already.....
Very neat and comfortable. Housekeeping is done daily and everything is in outstanding good condition. Ideal for 2 persons (and up to 2 kids). Fresh bread every day. It is equipped with anything you can think of (WiFi, JBL Bluetooth speaker, Sony CD player, bluray player, Weber bbq, washing machine, umbrella... Just to mention a few things). Located in a really calm area up the hills of agios nikitas with very nice milos beach in walking distance (about 30mins) although it definitely makes sense to rent a car/scooter for exploring the whole island.
Communication with Naya could not have been better. All in all we had a perfect stay and only wish that we could have stayed longer.
