my wife and I were travelling across Veneto; we saw the castle of Bevilacqua, saw the sign saying one could stay there, we asked if there was a room available, we were shown Cardinal Bonifazio's room: splendid! although the price was higher (150 EUR) than we usually go for, we found this experience well worth the money; it is very very special; all the furniture is authentic (the last owner was an antiquaire shopping around the auctions of Europe), the torture chambers are equally full of items and well documented, breakfast was sumptous; so one can easily forgive the minor imperfections encountered and the (for us) high price;
