Coed Cae B&B is set in a beautiful wooded location, with fantastic view's over looking the estuary.
The room was lovely, clean, and had all the usual facilities you would expect.
The food was amazing! A great choice at breakfast with good quality fresh local produce.
Evening meals are a MUST, two courses of fine cuisine, again using top quality produce bursting with fragrance and flavours. The desserts (home made) were out of this world!.
The service was first class, and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble.
We would definitely stay again, and recommend it to you.

I have just returned from a long weekend here, taking advantage of the three night for the price of two offer; £60 was great value for this stay at one of the best B&B's I have ever stayed at. The owners Graham and Jackie are excellent very welcoming people which made the weekend even better. Breakfast was excellent with the eggs supplied by Graham and Jackie's own chickens. I also had two evening meals which were also very good; Jackie is a very accomplished cook.
The rooms were clean and well decorated (no chintz). Guests also have access to a lounge which also contains the dining area on the first floor. The evenings here were cosily spent in front of the real fire.
I stayed there with a group of friends and also undertook a two day mountain bike course run by Graham (the couple also run a mountain bike company www.snowbikers.com, both guiding and teaching MTB skills). Tyhis like the B&B was very professionally run with a personal touch.

The area itself is great for both walking and MTB so I highly recommend staying here and use this as a base to explore the area.

We stayed here for 5 nights in April and were delighted. Mind you, the weather was perfect which helped, but the place is a gem.
It's only about 3 miles outside Dolgellau, along the road to Barmouth. When you reach the turn which goes left for the toll bridge, you turn sharp right and go steeply upwards. Coed Cae is perched above the estuary which gives it a great feeling of being out in the wilds when in fact it isn't.
The whole house is newly and elegantly decorated, and spotless. There are two rooms upstairs: a very large en suite family room and the smaller twin that we had - very cosy but the (private) bathroom is across the corridor, not en suite, the only drawback. There's another double room downstairs. Also upstairs is a comfortable residents' lounge/dining room with a good balcony and an open fire, which is a delight on a cool evening.
Coed Cae's greatest assets, however, are Graham and Jackie who combine efficiency and professionalism with great friendliness and humour. And Jackie is an excellent cook. We ate in on 3 nights and were very pleased we did. The food was delicious and creative; everything fresh and home cooked, of course.
The breakfast was also outstanding. I just could not resist the scrambled eggs with succulent smoked salmon!
Would we go again? Oh yes!!
