“Beautiful house with tons of space”
Reviewed 25 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

This house was a perfect base for our large party, which included 5 lively toddlers and a baby! All the bedrooms were a good size, the house was well presented and there was plenty of living space to support the 6 bedrooms. The walled garden was also huge and with the added benefit of a trampoline and slide it was great for families with young children. The house would also suit large groups of adults with plenty of space to all sit down together of an evening in the lounge areas and the enormous and well equipped kitchen. The only snags were that there wasn't as much outside bin space as we needed, the wifi was a bit patchy (baby monitor app users may wish to note!) and it took us more than a day to discover the car park nestled next to the houses opposite as the signage was obscured by some bushes! There was however plenty of parking nearby in the village once the 3 allocated spaces outside were full. Lots to do in the local area (we managed Weymouth beach, Durdle Door and Lulworth cove and Monkey World in a weekend). All in all a lovely place to stay and we were very sad to leave it.

“Excellent place to stay”
Reviewed 21 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We are just back from a week at The Mill House and had a wonderful time. We were 7 adults and 5 children aged 6 or under we all enjoyed it. The house is very large and the photos on the website are all true,. It was a treat to be located in such an historic building and watch the two local rivers merge under the mill next door. The garden was very large and safe for the children and I think it has sun all day long.
Maiden Newton is a great friendly village and the Mill House is a very short walk from the village store , a pub, restaurant and a chip shop. Not only that there is a station that takes you to the centre of Weymouth.
We travelled to West Bay for the beach , café and fair on the first day. Wish we had time to go crabbing over the harbour. The next day we did Lyme Regis and its excellent beach and character shops. We also went to Weymouth for the carnival, Abbotsbury for the Swannery and children's play farm/ centre nearby, Dorchester for shops , sports centre and museums.Oh yes don't forget Charmouth for fossil hunting. We didn't get time to do all we wanted to in just a week and will look forward to returning to the Mill House as soon as we can. Highly recommended.

“A fantastic weekend retreat for a get together with friends”
Reviewed 16 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

My friends and I were looking for the perfect chilled out getaway location where we could chat, cook, drink wine together and generally escape from our busy everyday lives for the weekend. Mill House was the ideal country retreat for us! The house is remarkably well equipped, tastefully decorated, clean and cosy. I haven't slept so well for a long time due to its quiet location and comfortable beds. In short, it is a very welcoming place. The local area is a dream to explore with lovely scenery. The house is a short drive away from some super coastal locations, perfect for heading out for a spot of lunch. Or if prefer to stay in the house and are lucky enough to have some sun during your stay, the garden is a tranquil setting for a bit of sunbathing. If you visit in Winter, be sure to bring festive mulled wine to sip around the roaring fire! We loved our stay and will definitely be returning soon. Thank you.

“Amazing! What a splendid place.”
Reviewed 12 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

My family and I are from the US and spent five days at Mill House. The facilities were great, with everything we needed, and more. The house has so much space, it took hide-and-go-seek to a whole new level for the kids (OK, I played too!). We had as much fun staying in as exploring the surrounding countryside. And when we did go out, the owners' recommendations were terrific, from cliff walks, to beaches, to the best country pubs . . . so much to do. After a pleasantly exhausting day, we would nestle in by one of the fires and drift off later to sleep to the gentle sound of the river. A great family getaway. So looking forward to coming back.

“What a wonderful place ”
Reviewed 19 February 2016 for a stay in December 2015

We visited friends and family who were staying in the Mill House for a few days. I could immediately see why they were so pleased; what a wonderful place!
As we entered the habitation we immediately felt the warmth and of the house, the lit fireplace added to the homely atmosphere.
The kitchen is lovely and spacious with a large table that was perfect for us all to enjoy a meal together.
The rooms are all individually decorated with a cozy feel.
A few of us competed against each other with a game of pool in the games room that leads out to the generous rare garden which has a calming influence due to the sound of the water.
All in all it's the perfect house for a perfect holiday in Dorset, thank you!
