We offer an extensive range of a la carte menu and cabinet items and offer a range of dietary solutions as standard and if requested. We make our food on site from scratch and offer coffee expertly made to your liking. Our cafe/restairant has received great reviews on TripAdvisor and is loved by our regular customers each time they visit. My friend and I have been to the Wooden Spoon many times before as we're local people. Today we were a bit surprised when we visited the cafe at 11:30 am. The cafe wasn't busy. Food was just ok and it could have been better. No staff came and asked if food was ok or not or if there was anything else they could help with. Staffs aren't that friendly or greet us/the customers. There was one table where we wanted to sit, but it hasn't been wiped. So we moved and then we saw the floor was also dirty. No staff cleaned the floor until 45 mins later when we finished our lunch and about to leave. We planned to have a coffee and a dessert after our main, but decided not to.

We turned off the highway looking for breakfast and found The Wooden Spoon. And we were not disappointed.

Really good coffee and the poached eggs with gluten free bread and bacon were pronounced 'excellent' and that is how I would rate my fried eggs with bacon and 'normal' toast.

Plus the service was friendly and excellent.

Highly recommended and a nice venue.

A great breakfast spot if in the Richmond area.

Some nice choices on the menu and specials on The blackboard.

We ordered the Rosti stack and the muesli which were both excellent. The service was quick and the owners enjoyed some lighthearted banter.

The menu had specific breakfast options but everything else was available all day.

Friendly Staff on entering this cafe, looking for a light lunch. We chose cabinet food and coffee all which arrived very promptly. The food was tasty and reasonably priced, great coffee. Thank-you!
