We opted to ask Chris to pick us up from Bordeaux airport (i believe he can collect you from any airport within 2 hours of the house). We were given clear instructions on where to meet and then provided with a comfortable drive back to Bois Du Loup (the name of the b and b). This took about 1hr and 30 minutes through some wonderful forests and we event stopped for a quick coffee in one of the near by ancient towns which was lovely and added to our amazing stay. On arrival we were shown to our bright, airy and clean bedroom with an outlook across the very large back garden onto the vineyards. The room has a bidet and wash basin and one large comfortable double and a single bed in it. The other upstairs room has a double bed but also has a balcony looking over the vineyards at the front of the property. (This property is surrounded by vineyards in rolling valleys). The house is very warm and friendly and nothing was too much to ask. The original cellar is really interesting and there is some very unique and old drawings on the wall in the garage showing how the cellar was used to create the wine! and the outside space is huge and peaceful and perfect for an afternoon vino and food. During our stay the vines were being harvested and it was very interesting seeing how these miles of vines are collected for the local wine cellars using some very clever technology (and some very old hands). The house has great views with the sunrise right through to the sunset with the sound of crickets to keep you company in the early evening. Highly recommended - wifi all around the house, great traditional kitchen facilities, one well appointed bathroom and a very friendly welcome and host throughout. Highly recommended for a short or long stay and it would be a great and safe place to bring the kids if you like to relax, walk, cycle or explore.
