A magical weekend spent on the Isle of White. Accommodation wonderful. The Hideaway was a perfect location. Peaceful and quiet. We have already recommended to friends with children and grandchildren. We opted for the hot tub and well worth the experience. The collection of huts provided space despite their size. Very well equipped. Would certainly re5u4n.

Cleaning fail, the one area the alway goes wrong in our vast experience.
When we arrived we were foolish that we didn’t inspect the beds in our rooms in the roost a lot earlier as we noticed late in the day that the Mattresses in all the rooms were filthy including linen. When we made the owners aware of the issues not once did they apologise, When the gentleman inspected our bed that had a large wee stain on it said Do you expect us to replace mattresses every time that happens. They grudgingly offered to replace linen that evening and mattresses possibly the next day! With three young children who were very upset at this point we just needed to get out and so overall extremely disappointed about how it was dealt with and was not given a full refund (and that was like getting blood out of a stone).. A shame really as a great location but as it’s heavily used it’s looking tired but really need to up the cleaning regime!! And don’t get me started in their wooden toilet seat!! That didn’t lift so not to hygienic, they made sure they weren’t out of pocket.very very harsh!

These guests arrived with their own mattress protectors and pillows !? From the title of this review, it looks like they had come prepared. Late in the evening they notified us that they had found some marks under the mattress protectors on the bunk beds. We went down to inspect. We always have a waterproof mattress protector as a bottom layer , then a padded mattress protector and then a bottom sheet . We admitted that the waterproof bottom layers did look like they could do with a change , and apologised that our cleaner had not checked down that deep . We immediately offered to change them and the perfectly clean padded mattress protectors and bottom sheets . The mattresses themselves were perfectly clean , as they are well protected. I noticed that they had already put their own protector over all of our layers and sheets on the other bed which I thought unusual ? While I was collecting spare sheets, they dug down through the triple layers in the master bedroom and found an old stain , that had not been reported to me . I was apologetic and immediately offered to swap the whole mattress, and all the bedding , then and there, that very evening ( contrary to review), as yes that wasn’t nice . At this point the guests decided that they couldn’t possibly sleep in any of the rooms, even if all the bedding and master mattress were changed , as they ‘couldn’t forget it’. And asked for a full refund. We said we could not offer a full refund at this late stage, as we had offered to fully resolve all of their issues immediately and put everything right for them. They got quite upset about this . We tried to reason with them , but they were adamant they no longer wanted to stay . So we said that we would immediately open up the week for rebooking , and whatever we got we would refund straight to them . We did this and managed to rebook it the next day. We refunded them that amount immediately , plus another £100 goodwill.
I felt v sorry for their boys, as they clearly loved the treehouse. Everything could have been completely resolved and renewed in half an hour and they could have had a lovely stay. It was their choice to leave .

Absolutely brilliant
This is the second time we have stayed and our whole family loved it again! We have three young children (7, 3 and 1) and it worked so well, and they were so excited throughout. It was them that kept asking us if we could stay there again!
Really welcoming and overall a very magical place.
Thank you.

Amazing place to stay
Cannot recommend this amazing place to stay enough. Incredibly cosy and comfortable with everything you need. We were 3 mums just spending a weekend catching up without children but are already looking to return next year with the children. It’s close to everything but you feel a million miles away. Loved it.

Definitely go Into The Woods
We stayed in “The Roost” Treehouse for a week with our 2 kids and it was absolutely fantastic. They loved the freedom of playing out in the big paddock with rope swings and a cute playhouse, plus “The Den” with table tennis table and toys. They made friends with other kids on site and had a great time. The treehouse had everything we needed for our stay and was very comfortable and practical. Lovely hot shower and comfy beds. Beautiful location amongst oak woodland and some awesome sunsets visible through the trees. Great location, on the edge of a village but feels very private and secluded onsite. Lots to do on the island and easy to get around. Good communication from the owners. Can’t fault this place, it was the perfect retreat in the woods.

Fabulous hideaway
Stayed in the Roost with some friends as we cycled about the island. A really fabulous place to hang out with friends, relax, sleep and eat. Bikes were secure and the hosts were very accommodating. Will definitely return!

A fabulous place to stay
We had two nights at the Shepherds Retreat and it was fabulous. Perfect for peace and quiet- exactly what we needed. Perfect set up in such a gorgeous setting and far enough away from other guests to feel like you are secluded. The hot tub as an added extra is worth it!
Highly recommended.

A lovely retreat
We had 2 nights in the beautifully crafter treehouse’The Nest’.
It has everything you need, including a compact kitchen and great shower.
The view to the front is beautiful and calming.
Close to local supermarket and being the Isle of Wight not too far from anything else!
Congratulations Fiona and Will on a really thoughtful little hideaway.
We will return

Excellent
We booked this for my brother’s birthday so we used both the shepherd’s huts. It was just perfect for us all who ranged in age from 2 to 60! Plenty of hot water, ample cooking space and utensils in the kitchen area, comfy warm beds and loads of games and adventures to play inside and out! Would highly recommend this place in a lesser known and quiet part of the island. Thank you

We are situated on a quiet country road, midway between the two ferry ports. Yet within easy reach of Newport and Ryde. The road is part of the coastal path, and also the Round the Island cycle route. Woodside beach is just a mile away, and you can see the beautiful sea from the carpark, just across the fields ! The Medina River is just a mile or so away, with The Folly waterside pub, a popular watering hole. Queen Victoria's favourite palace - Osbourne House is just five minutes up the road, and the yachting mecca of Cowes just a few miles away. It really is a great location, within easy reach of many of the best parts of the Island.
Festival goers - if you fancy your own private, peaceful space, we are perfectly located just 5 mins from the Isle of Wight Festival site in one direction, and 5 mins from the fabulous Bestival site in the other ! We also have some beautiful Bell tents on offer, if there are more of you to accommodate !

How to get there
Address: Into the Woods, Lower Westwood, Brocks Copse Rd, Wootton,
PO33 4NP
Our 'Into the Woods' sign is small and discreet, on the left & right side of the entrance.
Park in the gravel car park , which is right beside the road/ entrance there (before the big house). Please do not drive further in, especially not to the farm at the end !
Look for the Treehouse sign and then walk down the path to the right. Just under the trees you will find a luggage trolley - load up and the adventure begins ! Follow the path down till you discover the Treehouse. (It is lit at night, but a torch might be useful for the carpark !) We usually leave it all open for you, the front door is right around the corner, (not the first french doors).
