I was led to booking here having read such good Trip Advisor reviews and I wasn't disappointed!
A small hotel, with 16 bedrooms and a few self catering rooms, but plenty to do as its set in lovely grounds and has its own spa, gym and beauty area next door along with real tennis and paddle tennis as well as lawn tennis.
The hotel is in an old building and retains a lot of quirky features like twisting corridors and narrow staircases and they have managed to keep a lot of the period charm.
Dinner menu was small but well cooked, breakfast was excellent and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Mid-week breaks are very good value, even with the single supplement and I would certainly go back again.
Top tip - check out their monthly special offers in the beauty clinic and book treatments as early as possible - we wanted to book further treatments the next day but they were full, even with 3 beauticians on duty!More
