We enjoyed our visit to Mount Ariel National Park. The mountain too park protects caves once used by Jews who were escaping from the Romans. There is a trail to the summit, and a longer trail down the cliff face where the Jewish people. Views of the Sea of Galilee and the surrounding area are magnificent. Spring wildflowers and green grass covered the hills on our visit.

The sun escapes us at Mount Arbel where we find another ancient synagogue. It is so quiet here, and the view is like a window to the Sea. You can see why Jesus came up here to pray. Although we are at the heights, we are barely above sea level here. The Rabbi unfolds history and understanding for us as the chill weights the evening sky. Time to descend to our hotel in a kibbutz. We relish the evening dinner and the company, and call the day blessed.

We did the hike, as Christ most likely did a couple of times when he stayed in this area. It is high, so you need to be in good fit and not suffer vertigo. It is worthwhile because when you arrive to a certain point in the top, before sunrise, you will certainly have an amazing soectacle if it’s not too cloudy. I highly recommend this experience, that makes you touch what Jesus most likely touched and experience what he did

You can see where most of the Gospel stories occurred from the top of Mt. Arbel. It's a place to relax, reflect and explore. Don't miss this site.

This site is my favorite in northern Israel. I am on in Israel tour with a church. This is a great place to overlook the sea(lake) of Galilee and imagine Jesus going up there to pray. It is nearly certain Jesus would have gone there to pray from the Sea of Galilee. This site is not over commercialized like most sites in Israel.
