“Very comfortable cottage”
Reviewed 21 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

The Old Byre is a very comfortable, spacious and clean cottage in beautiful surroundings. Our sons enjoyed the pool table in the games room.

“A great base for the area”
Reviewed 16 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

We had 3 adults and two children and stayed for a week. The cottage was spacious enough for all of us, very well equipped and had all of the basics so we did not have to rush to the shop. The whole place was well kitted out and very clean and my only criticism would be that the mattress and pillows in the large room were not very comfortable.

Valerie, the owner, was there to greet us and show us round and was really helpful and friendly from the time of booking until the time we left.

There is a great games room, play area and communal BBQ and a pub just down the road that serves good food.

The location is on the edge of Frosterley and convenient for the village and Weardale railway, which are all within a couple of minutes walk.

I would highly recommend this venue and we are likely to return again next year

“Well situated”
Reviewed 18 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Adequate accommodation if you don't mind a water feature - had to sleep with windows closed to avoid it. Kitchen spacious and well equipped. Loved the area and found lots to do walks in plenty.
