“Get away from it all!”
Reviewed 6 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

I managed to squeeze in a weekend away with my 2 dogs, before I start the hard slog of packing up a 4 bedroom house ready for sale. This cottage really is away from it all, but with a good local shop, a couple of pubs and fish and chip shop if you really don't want to cook. There are some great walks for the dogs right from the cottage door, hosepipe in the back garden a bonus for washing off dirty paws. So relaxing to get inside this cottage, light the woodburner, snuggle up on the sofa and watch disgustingly pathetic chick flicks! Delightful quirky bathroom - mind your head (!) with the most luxurious White Company fluffy towels, beautiful comfy bed, slept like a log after all that fresh air. All 3 of us had a fantastic time! Thank you Stuart and Alison - it's gorgeous!

“beautiful cottage, full of character”
Reviewed 9 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We had a 3 night stay at this lovely cottage, it was immaculately clean and was very well equipped with everything we needed. Upon arrival we found a lovely welcome box with treats for us and our dog. We love walking and the surrounding countryside was beautiful, it was great to go back to the cottage and light the log burner. We had a lovely meal at the black bull and the local chip shop was great too. We enjoyed staying there so much we hope to return soon.

“The ideal place for a romantic getaway in beautiful surroundings, and much comfort.”
Reviewed 30 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

The whole experience was perfect be it the cottage, the local public house or the surrounding areas. The cottage met all of our expectations from ease of finding through comfort and quality, the Black Bull is a must for anyone and we recommend booking up in advance (it's worth it). Lots of activities to do in the surrounding areas as well so, whether you are an indoor or outdoor type then Innkeepers Cottage is ideal for both.

“Quaint and delighful”
Reviewed 2 May 2014 for a stay in November 2013

What a fantastic little cottage with many unique features, emphasising the quality of this 17th Century former innkeeper residence. From the time you arrive, to the time you leave, taking in all it's many features, it's apparent that the owners not only cherish this dwelling but also take into account their guests every needs in a holiday cottage. The decor and finishing touches are excellent, it's maintained to a very high standard and it particularly excels in either it's original features or high quality replicas.
The people in this location are very friendly and this is in an ideal location to explore this beautiful part of northern England.
For the opportunity to take a short break in a superb location this attractive cottage will be very hard to beat.

An excellent little scantury to get away from the hustle & bustle, it's got everything you need and more and is very cosy and comfortable. We had a lovely Easter break, we walked around the surrounding area which is stunning and it made even better to have the lovey sunny weather. We sampled the local fish & chips they came recommend and didn't dissapoint, we also ate at the Italian in the next village, excellent food and very resonably priced. We didn't manage to eat at the Black Bull as it was fully booked so my advice is to make sure you book in advance.
